Hi Anol – my questions to you for today. Please note that I need reasons to support your answers

1. 'God wanted to create the draft version before creating the masterpiece', so man came before woman. Please substantiate.

2. 'Tomra je balo dibasho rajani, bhalobasha bhalobasha…

Sokhi bhalobasha kare kaye, se ki kebale-i jatonamaye…

Se ki kebal-i chokher jal, se ki kebal-i dukher shwash…

Tabe kare loke ki sukher-o tare, emon dukher-o aash?'

You know the question right? For those who don't understand bangla, this is part of a Tagore song and all I am trying to understand here is that if Love hurts so much, why do people look forward to it?

3. Since 'life is a comedy of errors', which error of your life has been most comical so far?

4. If 'love is blind', why do you think external beauty is still commonly considered one of the most important things to start off a relationship?

5. God helps them who help themselves. Now if everyone helps themselves, wouldn't God be jobless?

6. If 'Practice makes man perfect' and 'no one is perfect', then why practice?

7. If 'there is a woman behind every successful man', isn't marriage the shortest path to success?

8. Your honest opinion about me in 4 lines, please.

Anolda, time for some brain-twisters.

1. An apple a day keeps the doctor away. What does an orange a day do?

2. The early bird catches the worm. What does the late bird catch (and if nothing, how does it survive)?

3. A fool and his money are soon parted. How do they come together in the first place?

4. Honesty is the best policy. How much does it cost, how long is it valid for, and is there a deductible?

5. Charity begins at home. Where does it end?

6. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Where do you put the remaining eggs?

7. Look before you leap. What should a blind person do?

8. History repeats itself. Why would it be called history then, if it occurs in the present?

9. Empty vessels make the most noise. What make the least noise?

10. A friend in need is a friend indeed. What if you're never in need. How do you know who your friends are?

11. An idle mind is the devil's workshop. Who works in a busy mind?

12. As you sow, so shall you reap. What if you never sow, would you ever reap?

13. God helps those who help themselves. What about those who help others?

14. Don't cry over spilt milk. What if the milk is scalding hot, and spills right onto your uncovered chest. Are you allowed to cry then?

15. Rome was not built in a day. How many days was it built in?

16. Speech is silver, silence is golden. What is platinum?

17. Strike while the iron is hot. What do you do if the iron goes cold?

18. Two heads are better than one. How many heads are the best?

19. When in Rome, do as Romans do. What about when in Taliban country?

20. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. What about presence?

There is a detail probability calculattion - but for now

You will win an erotic massage from your choice of either Jennifer Lopez or Brad Pitt if you end up with the Ace, and nothing if you end up with a Deuce. First, you will select one of the three face-down cards, but you will not be permitted to look at its front-side. Then, the dealer will look at the front-sides of the two unselected cards, and will turn one Deuce face-up, leaving two face-down cards, one selected by you and one not selected by you. Finally, you will be given the opportunity, at your option, either to keep your original card or to switch it with the dealer's remaining face-down card. When the moment comes, which should you do (hint: for purposes of this question, assume you want the massage)?

- it makes no difference, since the odds are one-in-three of getting the Ace either way
- keep your originally selected card
- switch your originally selected card with the one remaining unselected card
- it makes no difference, since the odds are fifty-fifty of getting the Ace either way

I have a bad memory issue with numbers. I dont remember the numbers well. On Algebra street, each of the houses is numbered with a two-digit number from 10 to 99. I can't remember where Alice and Bill live, but I remember that their house numbers are the reverse of each other (in the sense that "21" is the reverse of "12".) I also remember that the sum of their two house numbers is a perfect square. The difference between their two house numbers is also a perfect square. Alice lives in the house with the smaller house number. What is the number of Bill's house?

#65 is Bill's house and #56 is Alice's house.
