While most singers after the age of fifty think of retiring from music, here is Remo who is thinking of shifting gear. He has decided to move from pop to serious music. On stage Remo Fernandes is a live wire and his oodles of energy reflects the liveliness that he has inside him. Even at the age of 53, he still rocks. He says the energy within him lies in the music and the audience. " I prefer to start the concert on a sober note and slowly reach the zenith. It takes time to break the ice with your listeners. But once you establish a rapport, there is no stopping."

He says that he is of the experimental kind and likes to experiment with new styles. If the audience accepts him that is good otherwise he prefers making his kind of music. "Anyway, it is not possible to satisfy everyone. But if you are passionate about your work, appreciation is not hard to come by," he put in. but why has he decided to change his gear to serious music. "I came out with two albums Symphonic Chants and India Beyond, where I have given vent to my frustrations. But I feel that India Beyond wasn't marketed well, so I intend to promote it again," he says. He is also going to launch his new pop album 'Muchacha Latina', after almost four years. He is also doing playback singing and have just recorded a song 'Jump in the air' for Priyadarshan's 'Bhaagam Bhag' with music director Pritam.
