The competition has only just begun between the two jodis of Ek Main Aur Ek Tu

for the Rs 50 lakh contract and many more prizes. And, the first round has been clearly taken by Ujjaini/Aishwarya. The other jodi, Sharib/Banjyotsna, went through all the three 'agnipareeksha' rounds and just could not get it right. This will be aired on Friday, 9 June.

The jodis are given three tough rounds to perform. Whereas, the first round was Alka Yagnik's hit songs and the second round had the jodis singing Abhijeet's songs, it was the last surprise round that truly tested the jodis singing capabilities.

Called the 'On The Spot' round, it had the guest judges choose a track and give it to the jodis along with the original CD and lyrics and just ten minutes to return on stage and sing it. The only saving grace was that the songs were well known hits so knowing its lyrics was easy, but singing it as perfectly as the original was the task for the jodis.

Alka Yagnik asks Ujjaini/Aishwarya to sing 'Aisi Deewangi' in this round and their rendition in ten minutes gets a standing ovation from Abhijeet. Standing up applauding their performance, Abhijeet says, "I could not find one mistake in their singing and they are our future singers." Alka also said that they had got all the high notes right.

Then, Abhijeet gave Banjyotsna/Sharib the duet hit 'Vaada Raha Sanam' to sing and promises them fourteen stars from the Groovy Gurus if they sing well. But, it is just not their day and their below average performance in the earlier two rounds had shaken their confidence. Abhijeet was angry saying, "You are selected as finalists and you are failing the final exam. You have to keep up and improve on the standard that has brought you here and move on from being just average."

Yagnik was also harsh and said," It is not your day, but, that is no excuse. It is an all India competition and you have not sung up to that standard today. Banjyotsna's has not been able to support Sharib in all three rounds, and unfortunately, is only getting more demoralized.

The Groovy Gurus also hoped to see the old Banjyotsna/Sharib again next week and kept urging them to be calm and perform.
