IF members - don't think these podcasts are too 'techie'! Simply think of it as radio-on-demand - yup, that's right, radio when you want it, where you want it. No irritating chatter or ads (well there is some chatter but hardly irritating, rather it's informative, relevant and easy on the ear - at least as far as Retro Cafe podcasts are concerned)!

And you don't need an ipod. Anything that can play mp3s, including those 10-dollar mp3 players or any mp3 software (Winamp, Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, you name it...), can play it just as well. iPod + iTunes just makes it more convenient (and cool!). Plus, with iTunes, you can be sure of receiving the podcast as soon as it is published so that you never miss an episode. The best part? All episodes are archived, so if you crave some nostalgia, it's all there and readily accessible.

With things made this easy, what are you waiting for?! Download now and revel.

PS. For the young 'uns out here, do sample a few Retro Cafe episodes. The R D Burman episodes will make a good start as they are perhaps more in sync with current tastes, but do listen to Naushad after that to realize the depth of Hindi film music and why there was nothing 'filmi' about music then. Every composition was taken seriously and countless hours spent on perfecting every note. Perhaps then we will better understand the pain and heartburn of fellow forum members over the seeming demise of good music in Hindi films. There is a world out there beyond <><> (composer's name withheld on request). Let's discover and appreciate it. And podcasts are a great way to do that 'cos the producers have put in their sweat and moolah to select the very best and present it to you in an engaging and extremely convenient manner.

We would be fools to miss out on it.

Thanks Ashu!! 😊
