I was just listening to some of his songs (you're right Anol i'd heard many of them but just didn't know it was the work of Naushad Ali 😊 ) and i have to profess a fondness for the songs from Rattan. Ankhiyan Milake and Rum Jhum barse both had a sprightly quality to it that appealed to me from the first note.

Similarly Awaz de Kahan hai from Anmol Ghadi with its lilting melodies was an absolute pleasure to listen to. Other compositions like Afsana Likh Rahi Hoon (Dard), Milte Hi Aankhain Dil Hua (babul), and Kahe Jiya dole (Anokhi Ada) were equally enrapturing.

Those who would like to listen to some of these songs can find them at:

Enjoy

I am sadder to see that very few people actually visited the thread to wish the legend's soul a peaceful rest. 😭

Is our music taste left with only 'rock', 'cool' or 'sucks'?
Where we are heading towards?

He was a link to golden past...
He was a link to Mohd Rafi for Mohd Rafi fans...
He was there on the saregama shows....
He was there in saregama with all his class...
He was a living legend we were able to see in front of our eyes....
He was mentor of so many legends...
His great music is going to live forever...
His master pieces are going to be with us for ever..
May God bless his soul...

Very sad news. He was living legend, we saw him in SRGMP many times. Bhagwan unki aatma ko shanti de. He may not be living in this world anymore but will always live in our heart because of his evergreen music. We can never forget him.

Just wanted to remind people that he composed the signature tune for the serial "The Sword of Tipu Sultan" which was magnificient. Does anyone remember that? The marching tune brought alive the pomp and pagaentry of the times.
