yaar, this is what happens when you try a new line everytime. isliye kehta hoon, ek doh line rutlo aur har jagah chipka doh 😉

Do not be a sour puss. Be more magnanimous. Maybe he has personal problems. So what if he forgot a few lines? He is singing songs he was not familiar with and asked to memorise so many new songs and tunes. We should check if they give them enough audio and visual equipment to help.

Its not a question of being either a sourpuss or magnanimous. Its a question of Rajeev's lack of focus and commitment.

Twinkle and Viswas had a point (i can't believe i'm saying this!) when they said that if you are voted the top team by the public that you should conscientiously work at every performance and keep their faith in you. Ujjaini mentioned that before every performance all the singers have to be focussed and concentrating on their upcoming song for the week.

None of the other contestants are having problems with the many songs and lines they have to learn so it is a just issue to raise.

UA should be # 1 and VR # 2 too bad they are out
but if u can tolerate TV then why not SR 😉

I agree that Rajeev should not have forgotten his lines again, but I don't see major fault here. This is a singing competition and the contestants should be judged based on sur, taal, expression, feel, and pronunciation but not based on their hip shaking capability, seducing capability, and memorizing ability. So why is it so important to memorize the song? Asha ji must have sung the songs like "Chura liya", "Dum maro dum" a thousand times, but still when she gives a stage show she always has the lyrics in front of her. So does that make Asha ji a bad singer? NO.

We should realize that all the other singers in this contest are trained and must have done hundreds of shows or stage performances before coming to SRGMP. So these people do not have any stage fear, and thats why they can remember the songs perfectly. But Rajeev is untrained and still has a stage fear which is quite evident from his body language and performance. Its my personal experience that stage fear makes a person completely blank on the stage; therefore I don't see much fault in Rajeev. Again, this is a singing contest not a memorizing contest.

It's just my opinion and you all are welcome to disagree.

Are they not allowed to have the lyrics in front of them?

I remember Debo had lyrics out for one performance in C2005.

Agreed its not a memorizing contest but if a song has to be interrupted because they have to restart it due to lines having been forgotten then that does detract from the enjoyment.

Speaking as a lay person with no knowledge of sur, taal etc i have to say it does detract from my enjoyment and it affects my perception of how well a jodi has performed.
