its not biggie !! the way judges used their Veto is another example of overlooking !

I agree in true world they should have been de-barred!! and they can still put impression on Friday gala.

but using one veto and now reuesting and granting another one is ok then allowing to sing second time is not big deal.

No,my question is we couldn't really make out their mistake.It was edited,looks like..

Rajeev should have sung "Jay Jay Shiv Shankar.. pause.. Kanta laage na kankar" and then the whole line again. Instead he sang "Jay Jay Shiv Shankar.. pause..Jay Jay Shiv Shankar" and started with the 2nd line. This would have thrown off Sanchali's beginning into the song. It was Rajeev's mistake but since it was in beat, Sanchali could have just started when it was her turn. I felt there was no need to stop.
I agreed with Hrishikesh, that henceforth singers should just continue singing.

i also noticed that at first looks like sanchali was supposed to sing the first 2 lines and then Rajeev's lines start, but she just sang the 1stline and Rajeev started w/the 2nd....but in the second take which is right i suppose, she sang the first 2 lines and then Rajeev does his.... 😉

The prelude of Rajib was wrong. He started with Jai Jai shih Shankar, whereas it should have been hey........... Jai jai shiv shankar and he corrected that second time.

Singing with tracks is very very difficult. If you miss something you are gone and thats exactly happened. Since Rajiv made a mistake, Sanchali quickly realized her voice was not going according to tracks, hence she requested.
It is much easier to sing with live musicians than tracks. I even saw Kumar Sanu made a big mistake in a live show and musicians managed it easily.
Ujaaini was 100% correct as she says when you sing @ the stage, you have concentrate 100%, but didn't like what Twinkle said

The filler beats "Tet, Tet, Tet" overlap the singing differently both times.

That put Sanchali's lines a half cycle out of rhythm. A live orchestra can easily hide it by giving them filler music for an extra 4 or 12 beats allowing the singer to pick up properly.

Track-based, karaoke-style singing gives the singer ZERO margin for error. Timing MUST be 100% accurate, 100% of the time. If you mess up, all you can do is skip the rest of the line, and pick up mid-stream where you can.

If you are a contestant on SRGMP, you're a singer of some caliber already. It is expected that you MUST be able to do that much. So Hariharan is right.

Having said that, i believe in the past, at least in C2005, some stop....restart type privileges were allowed. (I recall such references in "from the studio" updates posted here. Maybe Sanchali assumed this and requested a restart. Hariharan chose to be hardnosed in the beginning, and GS didn't step in to do his job. It's really GS's call as director of the show, not Hariharan's call. GS likes to create controversy and uses arbitrary discretion on when to step in and when not.

Wow,thank U guys.I didn't notice all this.So,lagta hai,1st line mein hi mistake hua.Actually if rajeev would have stopped,then we can understand but since sanchali suddenly requested for a 2nd time,I got confused thinking that she didn't even sing a single line and why retake...OK,thanks once again guys for clearing my doubts.

Same here,I too did not catch,despite knowing the song.Sanchali,should have continued singing,instead of asking for a restart.
