Hariharan, Ishita Arun and Leslie Lewis on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa
In Thursday's episode of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa's Ek Main Aur Ek Tu, Raktima and Vishwanath's ouster is creating a controversy.

While some say the duo was eliminated due to Vishwanath's expletive-laden shaayari to Raktima on the show (which was beeped), others blame it on the lack of chemistry between them. The Kolkata girl, however, is blaming the channel.

Talking to HiTLIST, Raktima says, "I did not deserve to be ousted. I think there is something wrong with the counting. I don't think that I can get so less votes."

A source from Zee says Raktima's ouster has made her lose her reasoning power. Says an insider, "Raktima finds herself out of reckoning for no fault of hers and she is terribly confused. She is unnecessarily blaming the channel. Whatever she may say, the real reason was Vishwanath's indecent shayari to her."

Raktima shoots back, "The shayari wouldn't lead people to vote against us. It's a singing competition and not a shaayari contest. I know my popularity and I know what I am talking.

We can ask for the papers of MTNL, Reliance, etc. My friends and relatives advised me that I should demand to see the votes that had polled in but I let it go. I strongly feel that Zee TV did not like me."

Judges differ

The judges, too, have differed on Raktima and Vishwanath's elimination. While Hariharan did not want to call the couple back against the public's verdict, Leslie Lewis was rather soft.

The source informs that the two judges have asked for separate veto powers, and the producer is now wondering that how can he comply and resolve the issues if and when Hariharan and Leslie work in opposite directions.

Adds the source, "The offensive shayari led to their fall. The audience understands what word has been beeped. Plus, Raktima didn't even react on screen. She even laughed a bit. If she had a showdown with Vishwanath, the public might have been sympathetic towards them."

No chemistry

When contacted, producer Gajendra Singh says, "There can never be any problem with the counting.

Raktima and Vishwanath are very good singers, individually. But the two were not concentrating on their chemistry at all. However, I do not discount that Vishwanath's indecent shayari may have gone against them."

Vishwanath was unavailable for comment

Raktima may or may not be a great singer, my lack of musical knowledge prohibits me from making a judgement on that, but i'm not surprised she is blaming the channel for her ousting this time around.

It is truly sad that Viswanath's poorly worded shayari has affected her as well but to blame the channel is stretching it a little. When she was ousted out of C2005 it was because they made her wear 'black' and now its because zee can't count votes.

Expletive laden shayari?

Since when is 'toilet' an expletive.

Imagine when kids say, "Mommy, I wanna use the beep"

Or someone in a meeting asks, "Excuse me gentlemen, I need to use the beep"

Or maybe a real estate agent, "Yes Ma'am. This is a lovely house. 3 bedroom, 2 beep"

Exactly!!!!! I think this thing has been blown out of proportion. While certainly in poor taste for international TV, it wasn't "expletive-laden".

I believe RV were not voted out, but "vetoed" out by some combination of GS, HH, LL etc.

Both are good singers, and I didn't see chemistry missing between them.

This chemistry stuff is also blown out of proportion. Can you imagine someone like Naushad or S.D. Burman saying to M. Rafi & Lata M. - "you can't sing romantic duets - you don't have chemistry"! Geez!!!!!!!

In GS's vocab, it seems "Chemistry" = cooked-up romance, sex, tittilation. Whatever!!
