Couple trouble
From solo to duet, Zee's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa has graduated with Ek Main Aur Ek Tu, the latest version of its popular talent hunt show. And as the name suggests, this time around it's a competition amongst couples, a male and a female singer. As the heat turns on and the competition begins, the first thing that couples need to work on is their on-screen rapport with each other. Having come from different backgrounds and with a different approach towards work, it is vital that they work in tandem with each other. After all, it's their collective effort which is going to work best for them. But our straight-from-the-sets report say that most of the couples are unhappy with their respective partners. Here's a run down:
Raktima (West Bengal) and Vishwanath (Gujarat)
This couple just can't see eye to eye! Even though they can barely tolerate each other on the personal front, they make a good pair on-stage with both of them having a voice to complement the other. She thinks he is too old for her and hence selects 'oldies' for the competition while he thinks she is just too critical about everything! Their green room talks are a treat (of a different kind) to the ears!
Banjyotsana (Assam) and Sharib (Rajasthan)
Coming from two opposite ends of the country, they are just not ready to accept each other. Sharib doesn't like her and has no qualms in making it very obvious to everybody around. He only communicates wiht her on stage. Angered by his behaviour, even Banjyotsna has been heard telling friends that she is going to ask the producers for a change of jodi. Hmm..., we are in for a good treat of gossip in the near future.
Irfan (Hyderabad) and Sinchan
This is the most unusual couple of the lot. They just can't talk to each other. Wait. Don't jump to any conclusions. They are not at loggerheads unlike other couples, but face a peculiar problem. Actually both of them speak different mother tongues and so find it difficult to communicate with each other. Hope by the end of the show, they develop some kind of sign language that helps them communicate better.
Niladri (Mumbai) and Vineeta (Delhi)
East meets North and what follows is a hilarious laughter riot. This team of a Bengali babumoshai and Punjaban kudi is an item in itself. Because of the extreme contrast in their personalities, they are always arguing with each other. Vineeta is trying her level best to teach him Hindi whereas Niladri just refuses to let go of his bong accent!
Saptak (Kolkata) and Joyeeta (Assam)
Two lucky people who happen to make a perfect couple. Saptak and Joyeeta have known each other for the past three years and are the best of friends. And this off-screen chemistry can be seen on-screen as well. Whoever have seen them performing together have just one thing to add, "they are a treat to watch."
Rajiv (Chamba) and Sanchali (Jamshedpur)
He has the highest range amongst all the participants and hence was finding it very difficult to get a partner. Sanchali least expected to share the stage with him. It was only after Hariharan suggested the alliance that the two agreed. They are called the Hari milai jodi by everyone on the sets!
Twinkle (Lucknow) and Vishwas
This is the 'hottest' jodi as per the live audience on the sets. Twinkle was amongst the top 10 contenders in Challenge 2005. It's like a second chance for her and we just wish that this time she actually wins the contest.
Ujjaini (Kolkata) and Aishwarya (Bihar)
This is the youngest jodi of the lot. They are both school going students and have such a terrific chemistry that they are most likely to be amongst the finalists! There is a lot more to this show than meets the eye! So stay tuned for your weekly update on Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Ek Main aur Ek Tu!!
