After 20 years...

Nothing more needs to be said about the fast-growing popularity of Bhojpuri films today. After 20 years, Asha Bhosle has sung for a Bhojpuri film, Jivaant Films International's Nehiya Sanehiya. The two songs were recorded at Silence & Sound Studio in Mumbai under the baton of Kewal Kumar, who is a much-awarded musician who has also assisted the late Madan Mohan and R.D.Burman and has also worked with Laxmikant-Pyarelal.

Asha Bhosle was reportedly impressed by the film's story, lyrics and music and recalled that she had last recorded for Bhojpuri films under the baton of the late Chitragupta. Written and produced by Kunwar Ram Singh (the prince of Jagdishpur in Uttar Pradesh), the social drama has lyrics by Parashuram Prasad Kesri, Anjani Upadhyay and Kunwar Sultan Puri. Kumar Sanu, Kavita Subramaniam, Alka Yagnik, Sadhana Sargam and Richa Sharma have sung in the film that stars Rajeev Mishra and Almaas Khan and is directed by Ravindra Verma.
