Here is one for you Abhilash (the Saigal fan 😉 )

You know KK was a Saigal devotee..after KK became so hugely popular, somebody came up with the idea that KK should come out with an album of Saigal songs..KK was over the moon for a while, because he was gettig to sing songs by his childhood idol.. but then he thought about it and finally rejected the offer.. you know why? He said, "Once the album comes out, people will forever compare the two of us, and by any chance,if anybody ever thinks or says that in this song or the other Kishore sounds better, then I will die of shame.. I should never give people a chance to compare my Guru with myself..

I have a very similar aversion to nasal voices Abhilash, and I too used to find their style weird.. but with time I have learnt to appreciate the musical genius of Saigal.. he was a great, great, great singer..
