I know this is not related to SRGMP, but i feel it is important.

All those living in India may know that the resident doctors in goverment hospitals in Maharashtra are striking work for the last 9 days. Their demands are they get adequate security on duty as sometimes patients' relatives in anger manhandle the doctors. Also they are demanding an increase in the stipend they get. I just want to know how many of you support their cause. I personally have my full support for them as their condition is really bad.

Mods plz dont close this topic atleast for some time.

Ya, it's true that in govt hospitals sometimes patient's relatives manhandle doctors.
It is very bad. So their demand for security is 100% supportable.
But do you think all the govt employeed doctors serve 100% or atleast 80% to their duty? no offence, even I am less knowledgable about this.

The pathetic situation of Doctors and hospitals (specially Govt. hospital) is seen everywhere in India but not only in Maharashtra. But here I would like to say something on amogh8188 's support for adequate security for angry relatives of patients. I have been seen few Doctors manhandling very badly with poor patient's who are under poverty line. They are treated as deadly virus. They are neglected both from the proper medicine and from treatments.......

Well though i don't stay in india i have heard otherwise i.e. doctors misdiagosing / mistreating patients which in turn leads to the patients' relatives manhandling these doctors can't blame them really. Sorry but these are the kind of stories I get to hear more often on Zee TV. Of course these stories are not limited to Maharastra and cover the entire India.

Of course on the other hand if the doctors are paid well this in turn will motivate them to perform better.

The tragedy is that the sweepers in BMC get paid more than the doctors.
And in Govt. hospitals the patient to doctor ratio is almost 50 to 1. So much do the eople shud expect the docs to handle.
