Article from Hindu 2003 on ID's Nimbuda - Page 2

This is old news. I feel like there should be a legal remedy for this man if it
is true. I think that sometimes it is hard to figure out the line between
inspiration and copying. But if ID did something wrong, there should be a
remedy.

I wish I had more time really expand on the inticasies of copyright law
because it is really relevant to some many of the topics in this forum. but I
am not an expert on Indian copyright law so I also don't want to speak out
of turn.

From what I know this is a folk song and is attributed to multiple singers. ID has reported that he had researched this song and adopted to his music. Folk music has no copy rights

....I have said this before on this forum.
Nimbooda by manganiyars is the original one...it was a very popular one too. I have seen them performing live in my school and It was amazing. You can tell by listening it....
so many other rajasthani songs have been stolen....for example every other song of falguni pathak is lifted from rajasthani folk.

Yeah it is...it is a shame. I was flippiing channels on the other day and there was figure skating performance in olympics by russian irina slutskaya on NBC...the song she was performing on was original of dhoom title track....in the lines ishq ishq karna hai kar le...but then pritam has the worst track record anyways....no surprises there. Just a piece of advice....never play new indian songs...so called "hits" in public anywhere else outside india....

Baap re, I am losing respect for ID... now I don't like him at all. BTW, the rajathani singers performed Nimbuda Nimbuda on SRGM looong time ago. I think it was Diwali special...

What else can you expect from ID. Slowly, the skeletons will be out of the cupboard one by one.

Take it easy. People twice your age could be contributing to this thread. Dont use such language... Friendly advice from someone who is a lot older than you appear to be.
