Dear Friends,

Iam not an Assamee. But this is what I call as regionalism to its limit. And the whole hype is because of media and all pro-vinit fans.

You call Debo as Assam ki voice. I ask where were you all people during voting hours ????

I think UP is more populated than Assam. ( Correct me if my GK is wrong). why didnt they vote for Vinit ??

If a state is favouring its own candidate, why not !. How many times we have seen someone from North East, representing on an Indian forum ? Iam happy that someone is being represented from that corner !,

As of winning the challenge was concerned, I think attitude finally won !. In life, and in any challenge on any platform, I think it is not just talent, but it is also talent + the attitude that finally matters.

Lastly , vinit pro fans, please stop cribbing yaaar. You all are showing limits of frustration, by yelling that it is limit of regionalism !

No point in crying over spilled milk.

And lastly, yes , being a North Indian I voted for Debo. ( AND I KNOW I WAS NOT ALONE !)

cheers !

The way voting pattern was put down to eliminate cadidates I dont see any room for any one not to accept the result. Its a different story whether the voting system is correct or not and in first place do we really need public voting or not. But when it was accepted from begining then final result should be accepted.

I have feeling that Debo must have won by a bigger margin just my guess.

Prash, I totally agree with you.
I had already posted an earlier calculation of mine, dated 26th Feb in which I had written that by calculations of 5.4 crore votes from all over India, by all probabilities taken into consideration, Debo deserves from a minimum of 55 % to 60 % votes.

anyhow,
cheers

yaar, in reality there is regionalism everywhere and there is nothing wrong with it. It's there in the U.S. when a candidate from the south runs for President and gets all the votes from the South. And so on with other regions. it is such a part and parcel of democracy- if Man Mohan Singh and Deve Gowda ran for elections from Delhi, who wld win? And if you changed the constituency to the South, who'd win? results would probably change.

in a sense, a region not voting strongly when their candidate is not in the race is also a sign of regionalism. in this case, the votes from all other regions went up dramatically for the finals, yet the south stayed at 21L. nothing wrong with it.

but my point is, who isn't regionalistic? the question is whether a contestant is good enough to convince folks from opposing regions to vote for them...

but regionalism? it's human tendency. it just becomes a bad word when used with the connotations we have seen in this forum.

... and in my opinion, these negative connotations have been most directed towards debo and his fan base...

😆

Do you even know how UP is really like. I understood your level of General Knowledge when you praised M.F. Hussain in another post for his paintings. Yet again you prove your emptiness. 😆

MAY GOD BLESS YOU.

Mohinis - enough is enough. You are the person who called Asaamese illiterate. Questioned ID capability for his educational qualification. Never mind. I believe you never been to either UP or Asaam!
Here are some facts for you:

1.Literacy rate of UP : 41% (one of the 5 least literate states)
Literacy rate of Asaam: 52%

(No hard feeling UP folks - this is just a debate)

2. Do you know what's the educational qualification of Lataji or Ashaji? Since when speaking 'prototypical' English became the must for being a Music composer or a Music teacher?

3. You must be familier with American Idol - have you seen them to disclose regional voting pattern?

Stop this derogatory remarks! This is just a contest. I believe both Debu and Vinit got excellent potential - best of luck to both of them.

Acutally, IMO, those who keep calling Debo Assam Ki Voice are truly the
regionalistic ones. Debo also got huge # of votes from outside of Assam so
clearly a lot of people outside of Assam like him as well. The bottom line is
that many of these complainers feel that voters or candidates for that matter
from Assam or the NE do not deserve the support of all Indians.

I would note be mad if people complained about Debo as a singer but this
accusation really speaks to a larger problem with India.
