Those who know me know I left the forum and stopped watching the show after Nihira and Himani got eliminated. I vowed not to watch the final show after Hemu got eliminated. But when I heard that the 10 who got eliminated would be back to perform I had to tune in watch for their sake. I am neither a fan of Vinit or Debojit (although I think both have excellent voices) I'm fan of Sharib, Hemu, Himani, and Nihira and watching them perform was worth sitting through the 3 hour show. In fact all 10 returnees performed brilliantly. Rajeev sang "Rang de Basanti" awesomely and had he sung like that in the contest he might have lasted longer. It was so great seeing and hearing all of them again.
As for Debo's win...I am very happy for him. He has a great voice and best of luck to him. Does that mean I don't like Vinit? No. Vinit also has a great voice and will really go far in the industry. But I'm glad that Himesh Reyshammiya was dissed and will finally shut up and I believe that it's due to HR's overzealousness, immaturity, empty promises, and swelled head that Vinit did not get as many votes. Of course it also has to do with ID pulling that big walk-out drama in the final stretch of the show, but yaar who cares really. I sincerely hope that Vinit slowly breaks ties with HR because I feel that if he continues to be HR's chela his career and personality will suffer.
One last opinion I'd like to share: I thought ID's personal composition for Debojit was sensational. I loved it. HR's composition for Vinit was lackluster, repetitive, and I swear I've heard that melody somewhere else (would'nt be surprised since HR is notorious for tune-lifting!). I don't understand why Vinit needed his song book when he was just repeating the same lyrics over and over again! However Vinit's rendition of "Tera Jadoo Chal Gaya" was spine tingling.
Anyway, finally Challenge 2005 has ended. As much as this show has irked me and pissed me off, I admit, FG and II are really dull compared to SRGMP and the singers on FG and II are not as talented as the SRGMP final 12 were. That's just my opinion.
I wish all of the final 12 brilliant artists a very long and successful career. They are each a star in their own right!
