The women in Debojit and Vinit's lives i.e Bandana Saha and Bindu Singh respectively have a lot to contribute in the making of the two superstars.
Over a cup of chai and amidst the clutter of posters and bills, Ms. Bindu Singh presents a harrowed but happy picture. She is all geared up for her son's grand finale this week. House No. 7 in Tickaitrai, Talab Colony, Lucknow is abuzz with visitors. She says, "Durga Ma comes home every night to tell me that Vinit will make it." Composing herself, Ms. Singh hurries towards the vendor at the door who's brought in life-size posters of Vinit. "I have stopped going out of the house. But I go out with my two sons to schools, colleges and campaign for Vinit. In fact we did not have the financial ability to make Vinit continue with his studies. He always nursed a dream to become a singer." A sniffle escapes and she quietly adds, "Our boy never troubled us. He is the ideal son. I hope he wins in the finals."
The lone warrior moves forth, save for the one anchor that he has come to revere - his wife Bandana. Debojit searches for her eye during every performance for a nod of approval. Or waits for her to say yes every time he asks her "Did you like it?" "I am living my dreams through Debojit. It was a big decision when we both left our jobs." Bandana is busy calling friends and family to support her husband. "At times I am embarrassed to ask them for votes. It sounds a little shallow. But when I see the determination in Debo's eyes, I know it's for a worthy cause." On prodded for a parting statement, Bandana wisely says, "I want Debo to know that this is not the end. For me he has won already. I hope he puts in his best that day. If not, then as long as we are together, there is so much more to achieve."
