Please enjoy this poem, forwarded to me by a poet friend from Hyderabad, she hasn't written it herself.

When I born, I Black,

When I grow up, I Black,

When I go in Sun, I Black,

When I scared, I Black,

When I sick, I Black,

And when I die, I still black.......

And you White fella,

When you born, you Pink,

When you grow up, you White,

When you go in Sun, you Red,

When you cold, you Blue,

When you scared, you Yellow,

When you sick, you Green,

And when you die, you Gray.................

And you calling me Colored ???????????

Sorry Sinha ji. No offence but unless your friend's name is the great Benjamin Zephaniah, this poem is not hers. Check out his link:

Having said that, I applaud your efforts in bringing such a sensitive issue to the forefront.

I never said this poem belongs to her. she has forwarded it to me. She is herself a poet but hasn't written it herself. This poem has been nominated in some international category which I don't know.
And my friend's name is T Surekha Venugopal.

Oh, earlier when i had read your unedited post it had seemed that way. And the poem had come out in 2001 so I as wondering how come it had only been nominated in 2005.

As i said earlier, it was not my intention to offend you. Cheers 😊
