i guess these folks voted 4 "pure" talent. after all, they r such fine adjudicators of indian music. they know to the 10th decimal place all the mathematical calculations of sur n taal. they know too that matching the right frequency waves is so much more difficult than generating an overall appeal. of course, they did not have any other factor ener into the eqn. 😉

now y cldnt the rest of the folks be as smart? we cld have ended up with a true genius who cld have sounded heavenly even in the midst of all the cacophony n the lousy stage setting at kolkatta😉

True. Many who support Debo are doing it mainly because of HR's over-displayed support to Vinit which they don't like and not primarily because of Debo's talent; I vouch for this as it's apparent from so many posts in this forum. HR himself said couple of times that if it is bad to compliment something that's really good, then it's ok... I agree he is aggressive, going over the board, in his approach, but my vote will still go to Vinit because of his talent. Both the contestants are good human beings if you look it that way, so let talent (singing) be judged only.

It's a little uneasy to see people plainly saying that they of course support Debo because he is Bengoliii!!! But by being biased unfairly, one is being wicked also. If everyone carries on coolly (like that lady on TV) with this mind-set applied to daily living without feeling some sense of holding back (take-it-cool-though-I-know-I-am-biased attitude), then I could envision a sense of helplessness...

KOLKOTTA is in W. Bangal, where majority of people are bangali, isn't it? So anybody who will say against a bangali will get that treatment. That does not make Debu a better singer than Vinit.

I was just replying to bapigua ji and wanted to make a point that EVERYONE is voting for who he likes (some for the voice, some for the looks, and others (like me) with the "negative vote").
And thats why I said, "each to his own"...
