I am an NRI and I work as an advertising professional in one of the most reputed agencies at SE asia.
Every time time I go to work I carry with me the pride of my nation.
At a time when the economic growth in our country is sending shockwaves across the planet, we must ensure that the face/voice of INDIA is someone special...because our country is special.
To frugalise the way we choose our country's representative make my blood boil.
Hemachandra lost because the southern viewers view more local channels than Hindi Channels.
Debojit is a strong contender becuase east india feels left out and they want their representative (and we are is responsible for this).
Let me also clarify that both deserve all the attention that they are getting...but is the simple voting method the best way to choose a winner.I firmly believe NO!
But obviously the time to decide that now is little late!!
But for next time I would really like a more scientific system that actually decides a representative of our beloved country.
May be a zonal percantile system might be the solution where each zone contributes 25% and the percentages for each candidate is then added up..or whatever...there are a lot of experts in this field..and I'm not one of them.
But as brand consulatant we must make sure that the winner is WORTHY OF REPRESENTING BRAND INDIA!
And that is not an easy task....
