There used to be a prog. hosted by Anu Kapoor, called Meri Awaz Suno..through which actually Sunidhi was launched when she was a kid. I used to like the round in which the singers are asked to sing a song for the actors/actress lipsyncing simultaneously on the screen.
This round will also clear the doubt that a "Kid" voice is never going to suit macho actors like Akshay Kumar, Hritik Roshan etc.

Ya, i remember meri awaz suno.. that was a good round
even the rounds from srgm like chord or sur n taal rounds would be a good idea..
to sing in regional languages..
to sing without music..

actly in tat respect.. indian idol seems fair.. because the selection into top 11 were done with minimal or no music.. the theatre round was very guud.. where every1 was made to sing one song, which was a good idea..
to have a duet round is also a good idea because that way you know how adaptive is one singer..

all this should be done in the selection process itself... in final 10, it should be like how it is now, iwth just one addn. round of singing w/o any music...

i was hearing hema's nahin saamne the one he sang when ppl said once more, its without music.. and i think that was fantastic..if i shuld say better thn the one with music !!!!
