'Win'-it or Debo-'Jeet' - Kaun banega India ki Voice? |
There is victory in both their names. That's destiny for you! From the thousands who flocked for auditions, only two had to come face to face and battle it out for the most coveted title of the season. To become the undisputed 'Voice of India' is no small matter. The grueling sessions before a performance are a testimony of the tribulations that the young guns are subject to. The stage makes best friends look at each other with suppressed tension. "Will he be the one?" is a question which plays in their mind. Take these two for instance. Vinit feels that Debojit symbolises the 'snazzy youth' of today. Debo, as he is affectionately called, has a very contemporary voice. It's the voice that is in demand on college campuses, late university festival nights, a group of friends getting together over coffee and strumming the guitar, or just a simple get-together that shares camaraderie so strong that conversation is not always required. But then that's Vinit's take on Debo. What does Debo have to say about his challenger? "Vinit's renditions are 'soulful' to a fault! He's the singer 'for a nation'. The voice that is popular with a couple on a date. The kind that is liked on a long drive on a rainy day, a cup of the brew, and a long standing mate. That's Vinit for me! But then, on closer inspection, when one asks them about their chances of winning, each is equally confident about them selves. Vinit feels shaded by his mentor Himmesh's cap. Debo is likewise at ease under Ismailji's guidance. And partly the confidence comes from the variety and diversity that these guys bring with them. Each is singular in his portrayal. Which is what makes the competition spicier for the 'aam-janta'. The winner of the Hero Honda Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2005 India ki Voice title will, right in your face, determine the trend of music for the new generation. So stay tuned! |
