have we failed music

I still rememeber the time when public voting had not started
then there was just pmahesh topic and maybe 10 replies in an entire week to it

but after the public voting started the quantum of participation has reisen manifiold


now there are over 400 pages in this forum

and we have been constantly voting out the better singers like nihira nad hema

and this is true not only of srgm but also II and FG
the only redeeming factor of srgm is the high quality of singing in comparision to II and FG

what does this tell abt us the viewers

before blaminh HR GS etc have a thought at this
TRPs have risen fivefold since public voting started
and is very near FG peak ratings

what does this tell us
that we have no taste for good music as was with srgm old format for so many years

no wonder HR music is superhit

sad this shud happen in a country where lata asha and rafi used to rule
and music was seen as a medium of connecting to god

lalit those were the good ol days...sad state of affairs indeed that songs of HR rule these days

I have a gut feeling that the golden days are going to come back within 10 years. It will all start when HR goes bankrupt........
