Fair enough Jem-ji - but what do you like about his music, his singing?

Which of his songs touch your heart and why?

Are you only a fan of Himesh the mentor or Himesh the singer/Music director too?

Even though everyone is entitled to their opinion, however a Moderator should be unbiased and neutral. That's just a requirment of this role.

I have noticed that either you have closed or discouraged topics that are against HR and encouraged those that are in his favor.

What do you have to say about that Sister?

I am fan of Himeshji full stop: this includes the mentor/singer/composer/music director.

Whatever you all say about his singing i still believe woh sachche dil se gaata hai...whether his style is nazal or not thats not the point. He has something in his voice which touches my heart. Its different from the others &I really do love Naam hai tera 😳

He was unbaised and had equal praise for all till he was left with just Vinit. Still he was modest and praised all based on merit. Even in brhamastra he gave chance to singers from other gharanas.

When he found that his decency was taken as his weakness, he changed gears and became aggressive. With Debo winning continuously on regional votes and killing chances of many good singers, HR started to do marketting for Vinit. Though he becomes various obvious while praising for Vinit and introduced "love", and other gimmicks, he still is a good mentor. To fight against regional forces I am with him for whatever he is doing else we would lose a real fighter Vinit/HR team.

yeh lo ek aur ..... well yes i must say in the beginning it did appear that he was always being bullied by AS and J/L but IS was always with him and supported his singers. Yes in the FINALS he completed shifted gears but one does not have to stoop down soooo LOWWW really. It seems that his true character is now out, yes promote ur fav but be fair and be sensible when you say things no to the extent of creating so much of mess.

His gimmicks started much before anyone knew that debo would become a challenge for him...so pls dont try and justify his actions

Himeshji was "most decent mentor" when the series began...JL & AS always picked fights w/him because he would support his contestants Aishwarya etc. He won Bhramastra: this shows his popularity where JL were always bottom of list Vinit was only one left in his gharana...he lost so many talented singers (Aishwarya, Dilshad, Nannu, Joyeeta) & he realised Vinit's potential & decided he had to make him win to challenge other mentors - if he didn't do this, he would have been out of the challenge long ago: Vinit never let him down. He is promoting Vinit because he knows Vinit has it in him: you cannot say he is a bad singer The topi is just a "good luck charm" the pyar vyar however, i believe is just to add some hype to the show. After all, I have lost count as to how many posts have asked, who does Vinit love 😉 Ujjaini was lost cause - my guess is she was always harping on about JL to even listen to himeshji - after all one of her best performances was Gela Gela Gela...
  1. Paresh - his performances improved one after the other: na tum jaano na hum, ye reshami zulfein...

I could carry on but I guess you all will think I have lost the plot 😆

Bottom line is: this is only a Music Reality show. No mentor/contestant deserves the level of abuse which himeshji has received. woh sabse chhota hai...forgive him for his mistakes: he is human after all.

Jem

I will try to comment on the mentioned points (even though it was directed towards me 😊) as best as I can:

  1. Agreed - I supported HR back then since he was always at the receiving end of AS and JL rule criticisms.
  2. Here you have to clarify the word "popularity". Do you mean that he was popular (more that JL) with the present generation as a music director or as a mentor in SRGMP 2005? If you mean the former, then it becomes an open-ended issue and can be argued against. As for the latter, HR was not the only one who was popular candidate for the bhramastra. With the exception of JL who were always at he bottom of the list, all the 3 mentors held the 1st , 2nd or 3rd position at one time or other. I remember ID was in 1st position for quite sometime and then slipped to 2nd and 3rd. HR and AS were switching back and forth between 2nd and 3rd positions for quite sometime (correct me if I am wrong).
  3. Agreed
  4. Somewhat agree and also disagree – Vinit is not a bad singer but I don't find him that great of a singer either. So I am not sure whether HR really believes in Vinit or is he trying to save his ego in the competition (nothing wrong, I guess all mentors are victim of ego to some degree)
  5. Couldn't disagree more – Ujjaini didn't start harping about JL the moment she stepped into HR's gharana. On the contrary, HR hardly praised Ujjaini (other than repeating endlessly the same one or two line comment on the 'Black' performance) She made some comments (and rightfully so) after her ouster (you can correct me if I am wrong here). HR's partiality towards Vinit over Ujjaini and Paresh was too obvious to ignore and I am happy that Ujjaini had the guts to say what she said after she was voted out.
  6. This is again debatable. As far as my opinion goes, Paresh didn't really improve one after another in agnipariksha. He gave a couple of pretty good performances but overall his performances weren't anything different from what it was before. Also, we don't know upto what extent HR was involved with Paresh. For example, AS caught HR red-handed in tampering with Vinit's tracks. This at least proves that HR was (and I think still is) quite involved with Vinit's performance. However, there is no solid proof of how much he was involved with either Paresh or Ujjaini's performance. So it's possible that Paresh's improvement had its roots in ID's training rather that HR's

About your bottom-line comment: True, people in the forum hurled a lot of insults (a lot of them quite vulgar) at HR. But going by HR's on stage behavior, he hardly does anything to improve his image. Yes, he can be forgiven, but knowing that HR will do thesame thing (maybe something worse) in the next episode (since he never stops his antics), it's difficult to forgive him every time. After all, patience has a limit.

😉

This was my opinion only and naturally you don't have to agree with it.
