My Feb 9th show opinions

ok, first of all, Hema and Nihira are my favourites, but since they are gone, we are forced to watch this excruciating painful episode.

Vinit Suraj hua awful performance. He is so keen on performing that he is not concentrating on his voice. The song is so romantic and soft, I think he killed the soul of the song. I would give 6 at the most

Debojit- kehdona, was he singing or reading the song? probably a 5 at the most

Sonu is probably pulling his hair out hearing his song get destroyed like that now

2nd round

Debojit: piyu bole, I think he could not bring Sonu's magic. But ok about 7

VInit: tried hard to sound like Sonu. It is almost intolerable to listen his imitations, I think the music director was just trying to be nice talking about originality. not more than 6

It was appaling to see the mentors talk about their disciples/students as products. Disgusting!!!!

3rd round

Vinit ditto from above 6

Debojit: I think he was better than VInit in this round about 8

I expected the music directors to do a little more intelligent analysis. I think Priyanka Chopra and Subhash Ghai were a lot better.

Ig uess they just attended the show as a formality. Bhoomika used "absolutely wonderful "for all the songs and thats about it.

HImesh's actions are deplorable. Talking about Assam, India whatever is disgusting.

I think among the two untalented, lucky, undeserving candidates, Debojit is the better of the worst.

btw, r u from the so-called "neutral" zones eg. south or west. helps puts other comments in perspective since i (unfortunately) find such a high correlation between what is passed off as "opinions" and "regional bias". for instance, isnt it surprising that

1. most folks claim to be unbiased;
2. yet u can USUALLY predict their opinion based on where they're coming from.

let me guess based on ur "opinions"- u r from the south?

Today's episode sucked big time. First of all it was all Sonu Nigam song. I thought that India has some other singers too. I guess I was wrong. I wish GS brings back the real LEGENDS as the judges, not these loafers.

Both Vinit and Debu sang OK in the first round. Nothing extra ordinary. Vinit lacked the huanting feel of the song, but COPIED the song well. It was Ok. Although I lost my eardrum when Vinit sang the higher notes. Debu did not know the lyrics so was having a hard time singing and reading. Just cannot compare the singers with two completely different songs.

Second round sucked the most. Both the songs are sung so brilliantly by Sonu Nigam, that his voice always echoed on the background. The feel was completely missing from both the singers. I expected better performance from both of them. From Vinit beacuse it was a Sonu song, and from Debu because Piyu Bole has a lot of touch of bengali music in that song.

The third round was OK. I personally feel Vinit was better in this round, but again it was a Sonu song(Vinit fans please note that I don't always bash Vinit). Debu did not know the lyrics of the song, and on a fast track song it is extremely important to know the lyrics, or else you loose the feel, and that what happened to Debu when he stated the antara.

Overall it was a very mediocre show mainly due to bad song selection from the GEN NEXT judges. Expected a better show from the FINAL 2.

I am imagining Hema singing Sonu Nigam songs, sachi uski phat leti.. This was just injustice to give all songs from Sonu Nigam where Vinit has practiced all those songs since he was 4 years old. It was like Debojit playing in Vinit's home ground.

For this GenNext MDs are not responsible the blame should go to public voting, GS and HR. If it was nihira and Hemu in the final I am sure every GenNext MD would have given them the offers to sing.

I just imagined Nihira singing Piyu bole and Hemu singing reshamsi.
