SRGMP history?

When did SRGMP begin? Has it been held every year since now? Who were the winner(s) in each year, alongwith other notable contestants. Has GS been SRGMP director since begining?

There used to be Meri Awaaz Suno on DD(?) I think, Lata ji was the judge(?)...any information about it?
