I think at this juncture GS should change the rules to really test, not just the singers, but the real talents of the mentors as well. He should extend the competition by two week and change the Mentor/ Student combination. For example :
AS should become Debu's mentor.
ID should become Vinit's mentor.
HR should become Hemu's mentor.
Additionally the competitors should only sing semi-classical songs or gaazal's from or outside of movies. I know that these days the Hindi movie music is nothing but hard and soft rock, fusion, and what have you, which is usually ripped off western tunes. I also know that these young singers will become card carrying members and buy into that program just to survive in this industry. Nevertheless, both the music mentors and the singers really need to prove to the viewing public that they are worthy of being called Mentors and Singers.
This show is called Sa Re Ga Ma Pa…..so let the mentors show us that they have really mastered the art of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, and let the final contestants prove to us that they are really deserving to be the "Voice of India."
I am tired of listening to music that is being belted out from the base of the singer's belly buttons or nasal passages.
