Ya,when i first heard that song,i thought that perhaps something wrong is there, whatafter sometime i realised that sa was not there,i got it,it was a composition worth appreciation and Ujjaini was gr8 in that song,i was hearing it with my eyes closed, fabulous experience it was.👏

There is a Sa, but it becomes very difficult in finding it, because the notes are composed in a mostly harmonically unstable manner. The Sa falls on the word "Haan.... aan..." Ujjaini definitely did a great job in singing that without faltering on sur.

Another song that comes to mind that is very difficult to find the Sa is the song Lataji sang in the movie "Beel Saad Baal." The song is "Kahin Deep Jale Kahin Dil." People say it's in Sivaranjani, but listening to the song carefully, it is Raga Sohini. The Sa falls on the word "dil" and the komal re is only found in the song once... when Lataji does that otherworldy "oooo" part.

Zindagi Maut Na Banjaye from Sarfarosh

I have never been able to find the Sa. Maybe it is my limited skills.

Can someone help with this?

No bhatkada, it's about Zindagi maut na banjaye

This song is in Raga Tilanga. I listened to song just now and I hummed the Sa the entire time. The Pa falls on the word "yaaron" in the first line "zindagi maut na banjaye sambalo yaaron." This song does indeed touch Sa, like at the end of the refrain "yaaron" with high Sa.

Raga Tilanga:

S G m P N S'; S' n P m G m G S. Evening raga based on Khamaja Thaat.

Novice would be more appropriate, Swastika!! First step is to learn which you are already doing so by readin KB's articles. So keep doing that. 😊

If I am able to impart something about what I learned to someone else, then I feel that I have been able to do some justice to what I have learned so far, and hopefully will be able to understand more as time comes by God's grace. 😊

Thank you very much everybody for your encouragement and inspiration to write more articles and postings!
