NIHIRA- from strength to strength

Hi all,

After hearing the astounding news about Nihira,I was just thinking back of her performance in the Golden Voice Hunt. ID had been called as judge and there Nihira had sung Hum dil de chuke so superbly that ID was impressed mightily.

In the next round against one Sudeshna Ganguly, when Jagjit Singh was the judge, she was to sing Tu hi re. She sang well but somewhere in btn, forgot the lyrics, cried and asked for her dad. Due to this, JS said she lacked confidence and did not deserve to win. She lost to Sudeshna.

Today we see the same Nihira, poised and perfect, full of quiet confidence , graceful without being loud and attention seeking.

I pray she goes from strength to strength and gives us lots of power packed performances in the time to come.

Whilst for some, it will the begining of the end, I have a strong feeling that this show has given the boost she needs to launch her career.

Actually I missed that episode of Nihira against Sudeshna Ganguly. To me, Nihira is the perfact picture of strength and sweetness. She never let the praises go to her head. Though teenager like others on sets, she always behaved so well and decent. She is the kind of girl every mother would like to have. Hats off to her parents!!

I remember both these episodes plus others when O.P. Nayar was the judge.
I think she was outstanding in the Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam item. The same day she sung "Ala Tero Nam' from Hum dono and bowled over ID and everyone listening to her. What a rendition of the songs. I still have this episode on my DVR and will never delete it.

I remember when she lost to Sudeshna even Sudeshna was surprised. Sudeshna, by the way, lost in the next round.
Maybe Jagit Singh's decision of not making her the winner that day made Nihira a stronger & humbler woman.

Since that day I always compared her to all the other singers in the following Saregama shows and could not find any body to match her. I always kept waiting for her to come back and when she came back in the Sargamapa Challenge 2005 I was thrilled.

God bless Nihira Joshi and give her all the success in life because she definately deserves it
