I really wish Gajji goes back to 'only' music oriented sa re ga ma.There r enough shows to cater to packages.I hope atleast this program stands strong enough against marketing strategies.
I wud still enjoy songs sung by not so made up contestants and on simple sets but quality singing as it used to be ever since its inception.I used to watch all repeat telecasts of saregama coz I just cudnt get enough of the fabulous singing of the singers.
I caught up with some old episodes of Aao Jhoome Gaaye by Anu Kapoor, which is being telecast again on some channel here in UK.The kids had 2 rounds, 1st round their choice of song n second had them to sing the mukhda in sargam(swaram) n antara in lyrics/saahityam and back to mukhda in lyrics.This wud create interest for young generation towards classical music and atleast they wud have an intro to taste of classical.
I really hope Gajji gets back to 'original' format soon.There is a lot of contests which have diff strategies to live up to channel wars.But in my view in all this Indian music is suffering.
