Hi all

Wud like u all to say something on this...I've used successful MD and hence they dont essentially have to be good.....In today's music world unfortunately good isnt synonymous to success inspite of enough exposure(best example is Nihira's oust today)

1.Anu Mallik (need i say something about his singing?)

2.Himesh Reshammiya(I liked his title music for 'Hasratein' on Zee years ago- which i think is still his best composition..but lot of nasal in his singing)

True..HR is sick singer,too nasal.Try it Guyz,U can sing like that too

anu malik - his best song so far " dekho baarish ho rahi hai ....its raining its raining its raining ...mera dil ro raha hai ...my heart is paining ....is paining ..its paining ...." 😆 😆 😆 This one should get a grammy ...or wait maybe should be nominated in the american music awards 😆 😆

I woulg not agree totally though.
JL has sung a lot of songs in their movies JJWS, PBDHH all the songs are good.
RDB: So loooooong list of hit songs, great.
AS: He sang in Dev ( allahu song), Ankhein( gustakhiyan song), Chingari ( all the male versions) . he is good within his limits.
Rehman: Ha ha ha....Dil se re...vande mataram...he is a genius.
It has nothing to do with MD not able to sing, depends how much music is there in you...voice is god's gift...sur to sacche music directors ko aata hi hai bhai.

A lot of people love SDB's singing -- it has a raw quality, a very folk quality.
Also his versions of songs were much more classical.

I didnt go that long back...I shd have. the list was not the complete list, just an example.
also Bappida has also sung many hit songs.

I am not opposed to MDs as singers, but I oppose to MDs who are bad singers to inflict themselves upon us eg Annu Mallik, HR, Bappi LAhiri In oldies as correctly pointed out Cr and madan Mohan. One music composer who excels as a Md and singer is Hemant Kumar, what say?

hey I guess some members got my thread subject wrong.I didnt mean Successful Music Director = Worst singer.I meant tht we cud list MDs who didnt leave a good impression as singers....its just a sub category discussion.How can I say all Successful MDs r worst singers.
Dwarkanathji I totally agree with classical
maestros like Ghantasala are all abs wonderful MDs n fantabulous singers.
Also MMKreem(called Keeravani in South).
Illayaraja inspite of being a mind blowing composer has had success only in a particular genre of songs

I hope I'm clear with what i wanted to discuss in this post.
