Hello all,

This is my first post on this form though I'm an die hard fan of this forum. When judging the best singer we ought to keep one of the important thing in mind apart from sur is how well and quickly a contestant able to mould himself/herself. I would say some of the contestants whose mother tounge is not Hindi and have reached so far are really good. I would especially like to point out one contestant Hema. He hails from Hyd and the way he has sings Hindi songs and that too with so much of perfection is awesome. I wounder if the same program is recorded in Telegu and that too in South, I am sure all the hindi speaking contentants might not have been able to reach so far. Keeping in mind Zee TV is not that popular down south. My point here is since Hema has reached this far though he got yellow few times is a treat in itself and speaks of his calibre. I think he is the best among all the contestants. Vinit is ok but he needs to wait for few years. He copies Sonu nigam and most of his songs are those sung by SN. I have no hard feelings for vinit. But consider if he has to sing Telegu songs will he reach this far as hema has done while singing Hindi songs. Among girls Himani and Nihira are wawsome. My appologies if I have hurt feeling of anyone. But then this is my observation.

I disagree completely. I lived in Hyderabad for most of my childhood and people are very conversant in Hindi. I got my maximum exposure to Hindi film music there (I then moved back to native Calcutta and lost some of my touch with Hindi music cos people are more bothered about Rabindrasangeet but that's another story).
I think its a tough fight between the guys in Sa re ga, I used to think Hema was the cleanest singer but now I've changed my mind, its Vinit

I do not think it will come down to a Hema/Vinit showdown. But if it did, I would agree with you full heartedly. If Vinit tries to imitate SN, then Hema's Saathiya song was very, very touching and I challenge Vinit to try it.

I also Give Hema 110% for trying to compete where the language is not in his mother tongue. I wish Hema all the best in his life. I have a different favorite but I am sticking to the constraints put forth by you.

I agree biswita, infact I also have been in Hyd for almost 2 yrs though less than your stay. But if I am not wrong it's not hindi it's urdu which is spoken though it's a mixture of hindi and Urdu. But I can bet that at home and most of the time telegu is used as the prefered language. though i belong to punjab and singing a song other than your mother tounge needs a lot of guts. There are many singers in India who are very good in mimicing someone's voice, but their carrier is short lived or they become one song wounder and get lost. I am in USA these days, heard that punjabi song was the theme for the latest show back in India. Will comment on singing abilities of once I hear them singing Punjabi songs. But any how thx for your comments

Bengalis have very heavy accent too but on this forum no one is discussing any other language but Telugu VS Hindi. Why is only Hema being judge for this issue?? Why not discuss Debojit having Bengali language as mother tongue, Himani & Vinit having Punjabi and Paresh probably having either Gujarati or his own Katchi language. Why judge or discuss one contestant not all??

I am trying to be fair. This is my opinion only. Not to start any regionalism but if we are going to discuss someone's mother tongue vs singing in hindi than let's talk about them all.

Funtush , Thanks for giving kudos to Hema for his hard work.

i agree with u 100%!!!! y should only hema be put in this situation when most of the contestants on this show have a diff mother tongue than hindi....but still i think all these singers are doing great. and no matter who wins the compettion all of them have been heard and will make it big!!!!

hey guys I think you guys got me wrong I am not talking about regionalism that was never my intent. I was only commenting on a singer's singing capabilities as to how well with good sur(not besur) a singer can sing songs apart from his mother tounge. I never said Debo, Paresh, or any one sings bad. I picked Hema and Vinit because to me these are real potential guys, Debu is also good but his singing doesn't appeal to me though I am no one to comment on his singing. It's just my view. To me paresh is also a good singer but he is one song wounder onlt. He cann't sing classical songs to perfection. He can be sing songs of HR type with no offense to HR fans but he will have difficulty singing for ARR or JL. To me Hema has that potentia. Vinit mimics SN as I said and those who mimics someone have very short term carrer in music industry though they continue to produce CD's of their own with the help of some music Industry by copying someone's voice or they can be boon for those music director's who annot afford original singer as they have have hight price Tag.

not to be off topic but did u guys notice, the only other language sung as widely as hindi on tv and in movies is punjabi. this was my observation. lol. back on topic now, i dont think anyone mimicks anyone on sa re ga ma pa. im not a huge fan of hemachandra, he doesnt touch me like himani and vineet. also, as u mentioned before, all the languages pretty much ahave a accent in hindi and its pretty difficutly to sing in a language thats not yours. everyone is doing a great job in hiding their accents and as i mentioned before everyone has their own style of showing it.

himani and nihira are the most diserving!...hemas voice always cracks while he;s singing...and vinit sounds like a twelve yr old!
