I have not watched the latest episode in which Ujjayini gets eliminated, but I am really happy to read that she put HR in his place -- deliberately or otherwise (I really hope that she did it purposefully)

Vinit is a decent singer whose voice needs to mature a bit. But HR is absolutely irritating. He gets on my nerves by his nasal high-pitch singing (if you call it singing), Vinit's topi/love affair crap, "meri maa ki kasam" stupidity. In my wife's opinion he is bit ting-a-ling-ling (if you know what it means :)) which is consistent with what many people on this forum think.

I read somebody on this forum commenting on JL's comments on Joyita's "mohe panghat pe". I too had the exact same comment when I heard her sing that song even before knowing what JL had to say. However I agree that their candid comment was politically incorrect and hurt the sweet girl.

I always found ID very straightforward with his comments on contestants from his and others' gharanas. However I thibk he went overboard when he gifted Vinit Rs 50 note that his father gave him. Vinit didn't even seemed to realize what he was getting and kept laughing while receiving the note.

Idon't quite like the use of word "Gharana" on this show. It traditionally means a school/style of singing cultivated by generations of singers. With all due respect to the mentors, can we say the same thing about our magical mentors (or any music diector in the industry for that matter)? On the other hand I am unable to think of any other appropriate term.

I am interested in knowing views of other people on these matters.
