here is my idea of a truely GRAND finale.
last 2 contestants/participants go head to head in a one on one competition.
their will be 3 levels of the finale.
NOTE: all songs are sung on live orchestra and complete songs, no half or one antra songs.
level/round one
both contestants sing the same songs,seprately . 2 songs altogether.
each participant will pick up 1 song to avoid any controversy.
level/round 2
2 songs each. any song they pick by any singer they want.
again to avoid controversy both should be given the freedom of choice so that thier are no ifs and buts in the end.
level 3
( i am assuming that the final 2 contestants will be from 2 different gharana's)
one song.
one brand new composition, composed by their mentor for that participant. The song should be brand new and no one should have heard it before.
now the judging.
a panel of 3 judges.
one male singer
one female singer
one music director
judging system
since any singer, especially in a competition can sing one song better than other song (nervousness, different and difficult notes etc etc)
each song will have a score card of the following 3 categories.
each song is worth 20 points
categories sur (10 points) performance (5 points) feel (5 points)
song #1
song #2
song #3
song #4
song# 5
the score cards will be added for all three judges . each contestant will have a final score out of 300. THE HIGHEST POINT GETTER WINS.
