Nihira

Other than the background "didak dinak din din din dha" for Bunty Aur Babli, what else has she sang professionally? I read that Himani has recorded a song to be picturised on Sushmita Sen. I'm curious to know what songs Nihira has sang?

There may be more but read this and note that Himani's mentor chooses Nihira for a Western song. We all thought Nihira is best with romantic, melodious and classical songs and Himani is good with the western stuff. Think again!! Her mentor (who knows music very well) knows best right as to who is good - Himani or Nihira. He picks Nihira when it is his reputation on the line.

Nihira Joshi and Hema Chandra of Zee's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2005 fame are going to sing their first song for the film Alag. The song Le Ke Dil, Lamha Tanhaiya Ka features Kunal Ganjawala, Shaan and Gayatri Iyer besides Nihira and Hema. The song is a melodious Western number.

According to Aadesh Srivastav, Hema's voice is totally different which is why he liked it the most. Moreover, he got compliments from the other jury members of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2005 as well. He has his own unique style of singing. When asked about Nihira Joshi, Aadesh said, "She is a fabulous singer. She also has her own personal style of singing and I personally feel that she handles the melodious Western songs in a nice manner."

Alag is going to be released in mid February. Le Ke Dil, Lamha Tanhaiya Ka has been composed by Aadesh Srivastav and the lyrics have been penned by Nusrat Badra. Nihira Joshi who will be singing for the film Alag said, "I like the song very much and I sang it from my heart. It's a lovely song and I am looking forward to it. Aadeshji approached me to sing a song for his film and I am really grateful to him for giving me such a fabulous opportunity."

Hema Chandra is also very excited about singing for the film. He said, "Aadesh Srivastav is my mentor in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa. This is a totally new experience for me."

So what if Himani's mentor chose Nihira for the song? Didn't ID, who was not Sharib's mentor, choose Sharib for the song with Lata? AS didn't choose Nihira over Himani to save his reputation, he chose her because her voice suited the song better (which is not the same thing as saying she's a better singer). That in no way means Himani is less of a singer. And how do you know it's a Western song? Where you sitting on AS's lap when he composed the song? Yaar, stop picking arguments with me, o.k.? I'm getting really bored of you. I asked a simple question about what Nihira has already sung, not what she is going to sing and with whom. lalit answered my question respectfully. You on the other hand, are an upstart.

1. Please read carefully: The song is a melodious Western number. It is stated clearly in the second para (which I did not write)

2. Ismail could not pick Nihira to sing the male number. He had to pick Sharib.

3. AS could easily have picked Himani who is tauted as the Western singer

4. There are others who feel I am not an upstart but know my music very well - ask Lalit

5. If I bore you, well ..........

If you know your music very well why don't you go compete on SRGMP Challenge 2006? Mera Sar kyum kha raho ho?

See it's not that because Himani is bad or something that AD choose Nihira. Maybe he has kept something much more better for Himani. Maybe he wants Himani to keep one track mind for the contest and so he selected Nihira 😉 How do you know it was not to distract Nihira from the contest preparations and nothing to do with what she sings better 😉
