About Challenge 2006 and Jatin-Lalit

Regarding 2006, did you hear Shaan mention that Jatin-Lalit would be back in 2006?

Does that mean they will have the same mentors returning for Challenge 2006? I was hoping for some variety and getting to know more music directors.

Yesterday someone here was asking about Jatin-Lalit's future assignments. I lost track of which post I had seen that in, so I wanted to answer that Q.

Jatin-Lalit have a huge Yashraj film in 2006, Kunal Kohli's film "Fanah", starring Aamir Khan and Kajol… That's about as big as they come !!! I hope they'll have a great score for that film, like they did for Hum Tum. I also read that Ujjaini was going to sing a song for them in that film.

I'm a diehard fan of Jatin Lalit and adore their work.

Yeah, it would be nice if they varied the show. Perhaps have Shankar-Ehsan-Loy, Vishal-Shekhar...the younger lot.As for the show itself, I would definitely cut down the number of episodes they devote to it. Its fun to hear the contestants sing, but not SO many times1

I am also a big fan of Jatin Lalit's work. I believe they (along with a few others) brought melody back into Hindi film music in the 90s, after the drought of the 80s. ( We need another saviour right now IMHO 😉) Though JL have been struggling a bit lately, they've still had some brilliant albums post 2000. I have high hopes from them for Fanah. They have always given good music for Yashraj.

I don't know much about how much music directors are paid, though 1 crore does not sound like a big amount. Is that because its a big banner, and they don't pay high fees ??

Yeah, I would like to see some new faces too. I doubt SEL would come on ZEE since Shankar was a judge on Sony's FG. Maybe Vishal-Shekar, M. M Kreem or some of the others from the 90s... like Anand Milind, Rajesh Roshan, etc

Yes, they definitely need to shorten the length of this contest. This one started in the summer at the same time as Fame Gurukul, and it still has several weeks to go!!

they have not announced about their separation formally, plus it is being said that they will honour the commitements signed together previoulsy.
