1. Imagine two trains travelling towards each other from Singapore to Bangkok which happens to be say 5000 miles. train A has a speed of 200 miles an hour and train B travels at 150 miles per hour. Dunno how to that second part cuz dunno how long each train is, but:
5000/350 + 0.5 hours?
cuz
Ya = 200x
Yb = 5000-150x [starting point at 5000, and going left]
30 minute break doesn't change the equaations cuz both stopped for that long and didn't go anywhere [just have to add back in later]
so, Ta=Tb -> 200x = 5000-150x
= 350x = 5000
x = 5000/350
then add in the 30 minute [0.5 hour] break so
5000/350 + 0.5 which is about 14.78571429

2. A man is on his death bed and wants to provide enough gold coins to his widow and two sons who are 5 and 7 years old. both of them need one gold coin each till they reach 21 years of age. The widow is expected to live another 15 years and she needs 6 gold coins per annum. At end of every year the gold coins deposited with the banks gives him an interest of 10%.

Payments to the sons and widow are made at the commencement of each year.

How much gold coins does he need to deposit with the Bank in this instance to see them through?
