The new album by SEL luck by chance comes across as a refreshing change in 2009. There are several songs in the album but perhaps one which would go down as all time classic is sapno se bhare naina. This is set in raag bhairavi, sung by Shankar and there are beautiful alaap, Shankar looks in great form here, exquisite use of bass guitar one can almost visualise Ehsaan Noorani with his bass guitar standhin in recording room.
The next I liked most was Baawre, this one is folkish and nearly set on raag desh. This has two versions.
There are more songs and over all the songs are of pretty good quality. The one by Sunidhi: ye aaj kya ho gaya is again a rock ballad in line of ye tumhari meri baatein (rock on: I liked that a lot) and it has again a lot for those who love guitar work, also very good use of extensive dum set, how many splash symbols do they have, must be a very costly set, hmmm....
