Priyadarshan is the one who changed the whole concept of movies in Kerala. Before him, comedy was only a small fraction in the movies with funny looking clowns and the like. He changed the whole thing around with full stretched comedy movies. His first one - "poochakkoru mookkuthi", released in 1984, was remade into Hindi (by himself) as "Hungama" in 2003 - I watched the Hindi one too, as I loved that movie!! After that, there came a flow of comedy movies in Malayalam, from Priyadarshan and other excellent directors.

What Priyan is doing now is to remake all the box hit movies from Malayalam into Hindi - many are his own and many are of others like Siddique-Lal, Fazil, Sathyan Anthikkad, etc.

Dhol is the remake of "In Hariharnagar" (Siddique-Lal 1990)

Bhool Bhulaiyya of "Manichitrathaazhu" (Fazil 1993)

Billo Barber of "Katha Parayumbol" (R. Mohanan 2007)

Yeh Tera Ghar Yeh Mera Ghar of "Sanmanassullavarkku Samadhanam" (Sathyan 1986)

Hera Pheri of "Ramji Rao speaking" (Siddique-Lal 1989)

Hulchul of "Godfather" (Siddique-Lal 1991)

Garam Masala of "Boeing Boeing" (Priyan 1985)

Chup Chup Ke of "Punjabi House" (Rafi-Macartin 1998)

Kyon Ki of "Thalavattom" (Priyan 1986)

Muskurahat of "Kilukkam" (Priyan 1989)

Mere Baap Pehele Baap of "Ishtam" (Sibi Malayil 2001)

Saat Rang Ke Sapne of "Thenmavin Kombath" (Priyan 1994)

Chori Chori of "Chitram" (Priyan 1988)

Bhagam Bhag of "Mannar Mathai Speaking" (sequel to Ramji Rao - Siddique-Lal 1995)

Gardish of "Kireedam" (Sibi Malayil 1989)

and so on... Out of these, all except Gardish and Bhool Bhulaiyya are mostly comedy with a touch of real life... Gardish's original was a tragedy in Malayalam...

So Kingji, watch those movies, and you will get the laugh of your lifetime!! 😉 😃 Sorry Summer, couldnt help listing the movies - I know this is your MOTW!! 😊 😃 Priyan doesnt acknowledge the real creators of the original movies much in his remakes, so I wanted to share this with ya'll here... 😃
