She's sweet, she's smart and she;s savvy and yet had a degree of naiveity.You saw how all the bollywood stars responded to her - there was an innocence in her audacity when she spoke to them and they knew it. like when she said woh admi to that director ... and asked all of them to star in her films.
I loved the way she started patting herself on the back in the midst of her tears when one of the judges started complimenting her on the elimination. She knew she was there not because of her singing. She enjoyed the show and we enjoyed her till now. It would have been an even great injustice to other singers, which it already was in some ways when they got eliminated in favor of her. But the public enjoyed her. So they kept her on.
Unlike that other show VOI where the judges kept forciably bringing back two contestants and changing the rules to prevent them from voting for the candidates the public had already brought to positions 1 to 3. They add another 3 singers, and change the rules, create a bottom three list and then have one of them eliminated... in essence keeping the ones they want safe and leaving the others to go. Which is what happened. Fortunately the public is smarter than them and tot a chance and thus eliminated the three brought in forciably.
Even this week in II4 the judges were v upset a good singer went in favor of some who did not sing so well. But if these shows are to be judged by public, we have to accept their decision. Even if no body likes it.
When Asma came back in wild card it was through public voting. The voting viewership of this show is a lot more savvy and serious about singing unike the Indian idol type shows. you can see from the eliminations.
You are spot on to say she would do well in comedy. for a while at least. I dont think her kind of humor will last too long. eventually even the public was tired of it. as we saw.. as paresh rawal's daguther in some show she would be great !! Can't wait to see it if some producer does take up the idea.
