Yes, the court gives us 6 month period before divorce can be granted. This is the case for Mutual Consent Divorce cases where the reason for split is Ir-reconciliable Differences. The Court thinks its giving an opportunity for the couple to sort out their differences and see if they get back to building compatibility by living under one roof.

So it can result in patch up or complete break-up.

The Indian court will not force the couple to stay together. Neither it will come and monitor the couple or ask questions like US Homeland Security would when granting the Green card here 😆 . One need not stay together, if one does not want to. Its perfectly okay. That comes as irreconcilable differences and Incompatibility.

This kind of living together is only coming up on Indian TV. Ekta Kapoor started the stupid trend of using the divorce track to keep the leads together. So other PH's are using this track.

In my case, when I got the 6 months wait period, I was so mad thinking, now do I have to go one more time to sign and all. This was me initially 😡. By end of 6 months, I was like fine. Chalo last time. And actually I did not have to see my ex's face at all. 😃

Another thing Saanchi can do is slap 498A against Indu for physically abusing her (kidnap and all). That is a draconian law and whatever the woman (accuser) says is considered true and the defendent has to prove himself as innocent.

**** But this is not a good masala. We don't want that. Right ? 😆

thanks for enlightening us shri...😊 I'd seen bollywood movies where the period stated was 1 year, so I thought that was what it was...but looks like the courts stay is 6 months..(and the small bits of added masala like compulsory forced-cooping together is totally ok with me😆)

My dirty mind -> What if they are required to try and test other things for compatibility too before breaking up 😆

6 MONTHS!!! YAAAY that should be more than enough to bring both of them together..they're going to go through a lot problems in the beginning as a husband and wife which i can't wait to see and love will just find it way in naturally
