Hi guys!

You know i wasn't a big fan of parul until they started showing the story of Anmol and Ragini in her old show, Bidaai. But she fit as that Ragini soooo well (one that was harboring deep pains and memories of the love of her life that was no more, one that was juggling to keep her family happy and putting everyone else above her own feelings and desires).

But now, it's just seems like that same Ragini has fallen from the sky and taken the avatar of Surbhi. She says the dialogues in the SAME EXACT WAY! how boring.

I agree, the opening scene was great. a nice entry, and she looked great. at first I was taken aback at how comfortable Vishal looked in doing the scenes...but soon i noticed that there really wasn't any chemistry, you could tell that they were working really hard to not show anything (meaning not show awkwardness). Vishal's face could have been plastered with that smile of his.

And vishal of course needs LOTS of improvement. he's lucky that he has a face and pretty good expressions and body language. but dialogue delivery??? needs tremendous improvement. (although i can say that he has come a long way from his first stint).

I hope that these guys can create the same magic. and i think i'll get used to them eventually. but honestly, i think shalini is one of a kind. it's unfortunate that most of her roles involve so many crying and scared scenes, but that's because she's soooo damn good at it! she's a natural. and she delivers beautifully.

i want to hear YOUR opinions. for those of you who liked shalini better, please voice your opinions without hesitation. please feel free to disagree and tell me why.

I can tell you all actors take time to adjust with their co stars...
\Ragini's character in Bidaaii was fantastic and she does have that image no doubt But she will do wonders here as Surabhi..

Yes we also faced a lot of thinks when she was paired with Apurva in bidaaii , Anmol and Ragini had a different level of understanding in their relationship and the chemistry they shared was totally different and had its own magic..

Give some time and you may see wonders which Parul can create !!

I dont exactly undersatnd your post.
You have said that Parul is the same and thats why its Boring.
In the end you have said Shalini is the same in all shows but perfect.
Personally I dont feel that Ragini and Surbhi are same.
Surbhi has a knife hanging over her head, and is alive because they think she os pregnant (she has already miscarried). I odnt think its possible for the character to show any confidence right now.

Red-Rags and Surbhi are different as chalk and cheese.Ragini though subdued most of the time was quite fierce when it came to protecting what was hers!Surbhi is timid.I noticed that the way Parul stopped when seeing someone on her way out.As for the dialogues, even if it was Shalini, she would be speaking the same right?

Blue-Everyone has their own POV!I think they did great in that opening scene and even today

Green-this got me stumped.Shalini though crying is great where as parul doing the same isn't?And being a Bidaai girl,Parul is quite good in crying and emotional dept too!

Good points for debate sake.

I never said parul wasn't good with emotional scenes. I was just talking about what Shalini is good at.

Let me clarify, what I mean is that Shalini always executes her scenes well. She gets into the character really well. So you see the character not the actor. Each character is obviously a different person, so for this to happen means that she's doing something to create that magic.

Ragini says her dialogues in the same way. Meaning, i see Ragini in Surbhi's home and costume. (Obviously I don't see parul, bc parul and ragini were/are so different). there's no voice modulation. if i were to hear only that line and then compare it with a dialogue from bidaai, without seeing any images, i'd have NO IDEA which one it was from.... that's a problem.

It's like seeing .....the Hritik from Mujhse Dosti Karoge and Mein Prem Ki Diwani Hoon in Guzaarish....obviously something would be wrong.

I think maybe a more apt example is Shahrukh. Shahrukh's roles are very similar in all his movies, i mean to say the same genre (with the exception of Chak De, Paheli, MNK). but he still creates magic for each of his characters. He uses the same techniques, but he does so masterfully so that you lose Sharukh and you begin to see the Rahul of Dil to Pagal Hain, or the Rahul of KKHH or the Rahul of K3G. Does this make sense? See some actors can do it well and some just don't suit. Like Amisha Patel, ugh, I can't stand her. Amish in Humko Tumse Pyar Hain and Amisha in Aap Mujhe Acche Lagne lage are both equally unbearable. Although a similar act in Mangal Pandey and Gadar just seemed to click. (Luck and costume/story/period drama effects may be the reason why it clicked).

Does this make sense?

I have seen Shalini in KGGK and a bit in Pratha too. I guess I dont see any difference.

You find Paruls voice the same, but strangely I have been a fan of her voice modulation from the beginning.
You have a right to your opinion and I have to mine. Lets just agree to disagree.

Arey yaar give parul a break. It is true that everyone has got their own opinions par to compare ragini with surbi is truly foolish. How can ragini ever be surbi?????Ragini was well loved person both by her husband and her father and coming from a very peaceful ambience. But surbi has to go thru many hardships and still in fix becoz of her abortion and as well as of her brother. Parul is a very fine actress who modulates her voice well. Par being a shalini fan, you can find only faults in Parul.

I liked Shalini better, honestly. Parul.....I've lost my interest in the show anyway, but I don't like how Parul & Sara Khan (Ram Milaayi Jodi) are taking over roles that other actresses already established. Meh.

I don't have any problem with Parul. The show is uninteresting to me now anyway. But someone should slap the man who is doing her makeup - her makeup looks garrish and clown-like. And that's not an insult to her appearance.....well, yes it is, but it's an insult to the person who is doing her makeup. They don't have a clue, clearly.

i so agree wid u sophia..the make up looks v chalky n as if they r trying to make her look fair..its rediculous..
n yes m also disappointed n upset wid d way both parul n sara hav taken over the roles of other leads who put in so much to establish their shows initially..n really these both girls hav not been able to create any magic.. bidaai was a show which was beautiful which made these girls what they r today but i fail to c ny magic they creating in the new shows they hav entered..i guess only rajan shahi can create magic wid them..
