Pardon me for making so many topics today. The episode was well writen and it inspired me to write a few posts.

While watching the episode of 1st January, (I watched it today), I remembered one of the famous plays by Bard (Shakespeare), Othello.

The ploy by Choti Thakrani sa was no way less than what Iago does to Othello. He carefully weaves a web of deceit, which starts by planting seeds of suspicion in the mind of Othello.

And a small hankerchief starts looking like a big proof when a narration of adultery and treachery is told to him a few times.

I guess all the sayings of Kaku sa might not have done as much damage as the damage done by rantings of Abhay sa and Isha.

And the moment there was logical reasoning which seemingly connected dots, the property papers turned into the proverbial hankerchief.

(Hope all the classical references do not bore all of you. :-D )

I know this story. Mom used to read a lot and tell me it like short stories. But it has a tragic ending na 😭
Don't want that for my Dira

And yes nothing wrong in making lot of posts, but do find some time to discuss it as well. That's the problem in this forum, nobody discuss anything.

Yes. It has a tragic ending but that need not follow here.

I agree about the discussion point. I generally like to discuss writing or execution if I like what is being shown.

And it is sad to see the story, set up discussion is not happening much.

you are right
It is not Datahukums fault that he misunderstood Diya . Chote thakurs words actually helped to caught the fire in large.
I remember when Isha said a person who can trusted by family ,cannot be trusted by none.If you think this in real life point of view any one would be stroke by Isha's words. After that for a few split of seconds I thought that any possibility that Diya is also involved in this crime?
Don't follow my word😆

"Look to her, Moor, if thou hast eyes to see:/She has deceived her father, and may thee,"

(Look at her, if you can see, if she has deceived me, her father (by marrying you against my wishes), she will deceive you too)

These are the words used by Desdemona' father to Othello. All the Iago's plotting would not have succeeded so soon if her father would not have shown the distrust to her.

Even if Ratan kept ignoring various small signals pointing towards Diya, somewhere words of Isha or Abhay or even Kaku sa must leave a mark.

We all know that CT is planing and Diya is protecting but he was right when he asked Diya, "if same proofs were given to you will you think otherwise?"

She did get CT arrested based on (seemingly) false proofs.

Nancy,

Shakespeare is one of my favourite writers and so I will never tell anyone to not read it. (In fact, do not NOT read something because someone told you to do so, read it, and decide for yourself)

However, it IS true the Shakespeare wrote in a different kind of English than what we are used to. He was from Jacobean era and so his language is not easy to understand (even for those who are fluent in modern English).

My husband who is also fond of classics hates his writing. The reason is not language but he feels the drama is excessive.

It is a matter of personal preference. I will suggest to try reading the simpler versions (generally written for children and so simplified for understanding), instead of original plays.

And do read without hesitation about not knowing the language enough. That is the best way to learn it. :-D

Coraline,
Thanks for your suggestion . Actually two reasons I want to read
(1)Because people said not to read,it is hard
(2)I have read that translated version so I want to read the original version

I don't actually read English books but I do read English news paper daily. After my exam I would try to buy some books, so I am making list.

Nancy,

English is not my first language. (It is Marathi, for the record. I studied in Marathi medium)

But if you making a list of books to read, try giving a shot to "The little Prince". It is a small book with a beautiful fable about love.
