Kudos to the supporting cast specifically Sakshi, Nithya Bua and Bhuva

I think this is my first topic post in this forum. But the last few days episodes were pretty good and I had to post to appreciate the actors and the creatives.

I was taken by surprise by the Maha episode and yesterday's episode. The episodes were a total laugh riot. A far cry from the usual tedious plotting and planning, not to mention the dumb murder mystery plot. The usp of this show for me is DiRa. No offense to people who like the mystery / Saas bahu element.

I sure didnt realize that the supporting cast was this talented till I watched the episodes. For once the guys were given something to do other than sulk, complain and be villainous. Was surprised with the prowess of Nithya bua, Bhuvan and Sakshi. Kaki sa we know is good... but the other 3 actors really surprised me! Today kind of felt like a filler... hopefully something is going to happen tomorrow and next week.

Loving Ratan and Dia's equation. The writing sure seems to have gotten better. Hope it gets more crisp and the focus remains more on DiRa, family comedy and Abay than all this murder mystery and other stuff. The who dunnit part and the ladies planning and potting is so darn tedious. Done to death in so many shows. Not that the murder stuff is Sherlock Holmes caliber... its downright silly. This space can sure be used for other better things.

Looking forward to DiRa's relationship growth. Cant help but notice the similarities in storyline between Gulaal and RHLN (No I am not comparing apples to apples here. These are 2 different story interms of execution. But the premise seems same) Having said that Gulaal is a masterpiece with some of the best actors in the industry!!

There are many parellels between these shows... the main draw for me to watch RHLN is its similarity to Gulaal. It is too early for comparison now... however some dialogues and the basic story do look pretty close. The execution and the drama though are very different.

I sure want to compare the base story of these 2 shows but will make that post another day after checking out how this story moves forward.

Hey poppines welcome to the forum 😃
I loved your post and i agree with you in parts .I don't think it has any any similarities with gulal .First of all, i have never seen gulal but have read about it in PPK forum .From that info i can say i had some similarities with PPK not with RLHN .Here ther is no kid and adult involved in a love story .That was the same reason PPK went off air .Likewise , gulal was based on tradition but here there is no such thing .

RLHN is based on a promise i would say the premises of story is a rajputani's promise and loyality towards his datahukum (ratan's father) to be a pehredar of his son and property .

I didn't mean to offend you in anyway ! 😃

@Krithikathediva Thanks for liking the post 😃.

The show has a lot of similarities with Gulaal. But Gulaal is a class apart. I have watched Gulaal 3 times... I am very selective about my shows and have never rewatched a show till Gulaal.

As I said the similarity is in the premise or the base plot and not in the execution or the nuances. Gulaal was way better in that department, but that probably was a reason for it to not sustain in the TRP race.

The PH is trying to strike a balance and remove elements that would get them into trouble later. I have a lot of respect for this PH especially after the YUDKBH.

The makers changed the story of RLHN for obvious reasons... but the premise is the same. Ratan and Diya are soul mates. They have a bond and they fall in love without intending to fall in love, both will fight against it and lose. If you notice, Diya is more happier and has lighter moments only with and around Ratan. She was always serious and sad before. Ratan is more mature when Diya is in need of him, he can sense her feelings immediately. His maturity and capabilities kind of becomes infinite when Diya is in the picture and is in need of him. This is what I mean by similarity with Gulaal. Btw... Gulaal is also based on a promise. Gulaal promises Vasanth to take care of his brother and his family after their marriage 😆😆. Watch Gulaal if you have the time. Start from after Vasanth's death I think around Jan 14th 2011. You get the episodes in Daily motion.

It would be interesting to watch how Abhay changes the equation of Diya and Ratan. His role I think would be kind of similar to that of Vasanth (Gulaal's first husband). Another major charecter in Gulaal was Dushyanth, Vasanth's cousin brother who was also in love with Gulaal and would kill Vasanth to get her. I am sure the makers would not miss this role. I would think this would be Dia's sister's husband. Again not the same story but similar. He would be someone who was bad but reformed eventually.

Having said that... am enjoying DiRa's chemistry and cant wait for ABhay to come into the picture and make Ratan go crazy 😆

I think that would be yash bana...may be yash likes diya but knows diya wont marry him and also knows about abhay ...but when due to situation diya marries ratan ...he will try and get diya.

Anyways , i didn't wanted to talk about gulaal over here as i haven't watch that show and i had read in PPK forum that it was based in diyarwattu tradition (sorry if i spelt it wrong ?) not on promise ?If it was about a promise she could have took care of them without marrying that kid right ?So i thought she followed some tradition whatever !

See, we can have our own favourite just like you feel gulaal was a masterpiece and indirectly implying that how this show is similar to that show - can be termed as comparison !

However , if you take it in a positive way - I love DiRa and RLHN's plot and don't want to know about Gulaal .Haven't said gulaal was not good ! 😆

agree with all you posted in first part its different show without sbs drama and mysterious but hillarious at same time
for comparison with gulaal will not agree with it as its not same as RLHN or ppk as i said in PPK forum also. Gulaal is based on devar n bhabhimaa here we don't have any relation with DiRa as titlesong plays in some scenes.
