Before succumbing to Bhed-Chaal

While, typically, I neither practice nor preach anthropomorphism, I'll beg your indulgence in this one instance of failure.

'Bhed Chaal' ... there's been an assertion that I'm bent on picking a fight ... that's oh so close to the cusp of absurdity, that it may topple over a la Humpty-Dumpty ... I'll tell you why ... in just a bit ... there's also been an exhortation to cease responding since I am clearly starved for attention ... in other circumstances I should defer to the superior knowledge of these (perhaps) self-anointed psychologists ... but I really must assure you that I do know myself better than my detractors ...

It is often the case that a contrarian and his/her views are anathema ... 'we have no need of anything you have to say ... begone, scat, shoo!!' ... has happened with surprising regularity in human history ...

First - the fight part. Has anything I've said led anyone to believe irrationality to be an aspect I display? Come, come, surely not! Don't people participate to seek and gravitate towards the like-minded? Haven't all you undying fans been similarly motivated to converse? Well ... surprise! That's what prompted me too! And in this I don't especially mean locating people who are on the same wavelength as I am ... au contraire ... it's to seek those who are willing to communicate such that we may each know another better, and, where needed, expand our horizons (in that, I am a perpetual motion machine - ordinarily something that defies all known laws of physics) ... I've tried this experiment and proven myself right ... picked up some wonderful people on the streets of IF ... on that other forum ... I tell ya - I was shore floored when I discovered them gals ... now, we speak on a daily basis ... over the phone ... over the internet ... webcams and all ... wonders of wonder! Hallelujah! And all that rot!

Second - the stifle response part ... OK ... you could all respond to that by being unresponsive to me ... wherein lies the benefit pray tell? Why would one exhort others to be silent anyhow? Should that not be left as a personal choice? Reminds me of an elementary school playground ... 'don't speak to her, she's mean!' ... at least 2 amongst you have had the wherewithal to at least be defense counsels - one being the young actor himself! Awesome! In both cases, I hope I've been able to show you my zany side ...

C'mon ... you can talk to me ... my bark's infinitely nastier than my bite ... it takes a lot for me to bite ... a whole lot!! It's happened ... but that time the stuff had toppled over that precipice of absurdity ... and lay shattered never to be put back together again ... not by all the King's horses ... not by all the King's men ...

@SValeCalgal: Honestly I don't think you're getting the basic point here....it's not about ppl following a 'bhhed chaal' and just talking to like-minded ppl....differences in opinion otherwise also exist on this forum...but there is surely a better way to put it across......

I think this person summed it up best in her response to your earlier post....

Anyway as an aside - while it is great to voice opinions because that's what a forum ultimately is (rather than a temple for people to worship something), and I do appreciate your wit, is it really necessary to use a condescending tone while responding to others? I'm not too frequent a visitor to the forums apart from trying to find those youtube links so I'm not sure if I have the right to question the tone someone uses (and i apologize for that). But well, it's just a thought.

You don't have to love this show but surely you don't need to sound so patronizing towards the ppl who may happen to like it either.

And it's rather amusing that given that these are probably the only shows on TV right now that are NOT so over the top filled with ridiculous nonsense, your continued insistence on dismissing these shows as if they have no redeeming qualities whatsoever surprises me to say the least. Oh well....as it's been said before....to each their own.

and the frustration
No no ... there wasn't any frustration ... just a wee bit of dismay! 'Well who cares?! Well, why don't you just not watch it?!! Well, you're taxing my feeble mind, so get lost' ... Well ... that's no way to get a conversation going ... is it? And it's not as if I haven't tried explaining what about the serial hadn't - yet - moved me?
but there is surely a better way to put it across......
Probably ... are you still smarting about the 'simpleton' charge?! C'mon kiddo ... like I said ... that wasn't painting the entire following with a single brush ...
But if you're the gal (?) who wouldn't touch my wanting to gush about the 'serial with potential' ... not with a barge pole ... then you've effectively denied me the chance to wax lyrical about the kind of thing that is entertaining for me ... despite it's complexity ... until it descends into a farce ... and then it can become even more entertaining just by virtue of being hysterically absurd!!
your continued insistence on dismissing these shows as if they have no redeeming qualities whatsoever surprises me to say the least.
Well ... that would surprise me too ... such pertinacity ... but I cannot recall dismissing the shows as having not a single solitary redeeming feature ... why do I think I actually had a reasonably civil exchange with Nandini? She told me what she liked ... I thought that to be fine ... and said I'd give the show another shot ... while not holding out much hope ... See ... I was using 'Mahi Way' as a model ... that's been a sinusoidal function ... the very first episode was truly funny (all my Punjabi bones were tickled) ... and then the next wasn't ... then the 3rd was kinda OK ... then the next was blah ... and the one thing that is singularly offensive in that program (and really takes away from it) is the portrayal of those 2 'ugly sisters' at the office ... to even write their barbs into the script is hideous ... what a way to perpetuate the worst in society ... I also really resent a mother being so openly vitriolic towards a child (like the episode where the eejuts from Ludhiana show up ... was absolutely disgusting!!)
Blast it! Now look what time it is! I have to get to bed!!
A bientot!

@SValeCalgal: I'm not smarting about anything.....if discussions are what you are aiming for in this forum, then all I can say is that it would make it easier for everyone if you tried being more approachable.....I don't like the characters of Sona-Mona or Mahi's mom in MW either but that hasn't inspired me to make posts continuously dismissing these shows as a whole.....

Maybe it's just me, but I don't really understand your sense of humor or the tangents you keep on taking off on.....I'm just stating this honestly....which is why like I said earlier it's better if I bow out from this discussion.....I only posted to clarify what I think is your misunderstanding about this forum's supposed "bhhed chaal"

In the annals of history, we have also come across instances when the rambling, annoying, incoherent contratrian has been thrown behind bars, sent into exile, fed to the lions... beheaded even. Sadly, none of these options are open to us. i guess, we'll just have to keep reading the trash that you continue to post here.

Oh and i didn't mean to ruffle anyone's feathers here. Calling your writing trashy is just me voicing my opinion. And everyone is entitled to an opinion aren't they.

Sadly, none of these options are open to us.
Ouch! ouch! ouch! Gee ... I'm sure glad that option is unavailable! 😆
i guess, we'll just have to keep reading the trash that you continue to post here.
Well ... is someone holding a gun to your head? Or do you have issues regulating your reactions/behavior? In the first case, I guess you haven't any options either 😃... in the second case - why, dear, that's entirely within your control ... don't force yourself ... anyhoo .... what's trash for the goose may not be trash for the gander!
Hey ... hope for the best ... which in this case will be that the serial fails to impress me ... and voila ... huis clos (sorry Sartre) ... and then the forum will once again smell of roses! I'd ask for you to pray for that to happen ... but praying has had poor results ... not as efficacious as widely rumored ... throughout human history 😊
Calling your writing trashy is just me voicing my opinion. And everyone is entitled to an opinion aren't they.
You betcha! You're absolutely entitled! And you don't even have to tell me what exactly is 'trash'!!
Cheers!

I'm not smarting about anything
OK ... that's good to know ...
if you tried being more approachable
Well ... since at this point, I have no means of gauging what is approachable for you, tell me ... or better yet ... where have I explicitly tried to stifle your voice/opinion ... which makes me hostile? That I am capable of civility, I believe, I have amply demonstrated (although not satisfactorily as 'lovegoodshows' asserts) ... see my exchange with Nandini as evidence ...
make posts continuously dismissing these shows as a whole
Butbutbut ... I've only just entered the fray! How could it have been continuous? Besides, I've already asked for clemency ... I said I'd dig up previous episodes on the net & if I like those I'll watch the next one on the big screen ... even averred that I might grow to like it! Sheez! Give the gal a break!
Maybe it's just me, but I don't really understand your sense of humor
Wouldn't you know it? Uncanny ... how I was thinking - gee, maybe my humor is too 'American'? (Hmmm ... you might be in this part of the world given how you spelled 'humor') ... now ... would you grant me that not every one will like my 'trash' and if I had to explain the funny parts that that would be tantamount to letting the air out?
or the tangents you keep on taking off on
OK .. so now I'm really confus-ed ... what tangents? I kinda recollect explaining my reasons for not being 'moved' in any number of responses ... but given that there are at least 3 others who've liked your ripostes to me, I guess I'm not seeing something ...
this forum's supposed "bhhed chaal"
Nono! I wasn't suggesting that there was a 'Bhed chaal' ... I was just advocating my own case ... in a sense pleading that the members of this forum not blindly follow the suggestion to cease responding because I was either 'cruisin to bruise' or was attention-anorexic ...

@SValeCalGal...first off,a round of applause for your posts.👏.....cant deny my guilty pleasure reading them and smiling all the while.they do say sarcasm is the lowest form of humor, but i disagree.its this humor that draws the maximum number of laughs.but of course some people dont "understand" certain forms of humor and choose to label them as "gross","mean","hurting".specially the ones at the receiving end.im glad the great rule book on IFs hasnt made rules against witty animadversions.i have nothing against Rishta.com or the people watching the show, since i dont watch it myself.but i cant deny that the "discussion" going on in this forum is "stimulating".way better than some of the other forums i visit at least.

Ever heard of being too wordy? You're a victim. Simplicity is underrated, but you should definitely try it out. Maybe you'll receive more responses about the show, its plot, and characters and have an actual discussion related to it rather than gathering up posts that make it seem as if you are fond of hearing your own voice.
