Besides, she is also a professional singer. Here she answers questions from our readers…
I am a big fan of yours right from Kahaani and I also watch Rihaee every week. I just want to ask how you manage your newly married life with your profession. Do you get time for your family?
— Aadil
Dear Aadil, If you talk in the conventional sense, i.e. coming home on time, doing the work, etc, of course it does not happen. We have odd working hours, but Varun (Badola) and me do manage to make time for each other, as we understand the work.
Where did you first meet your husband Varun?
— Nikhil
Dear Nikhil, four years ago, he was a guest on Antakshari and I was the host. After that we lost touch. We kept in touch on and off and then we did a film together, that's is Phir Se on Sahara. We were together for ten days and that's when he proposed to me.
I think you are extremely talented and loved you in films like Hari Bhari. Why aren't you doing films?
— Lipika
Dear Lipika, I am very much around alive and kicking and you'll see more of me soon. I am doing movies and you'll hear about them soon.
I'm from Pakistan. Why did you leave Ambika's role? Is Varun younger than you? But your couple is very hot.
— Irum
Dear Irum, I am exactly two months younger than him. Many people ask this question and he just loves it. But I guess this is because I have been here very long. I was just out of school when I started working. But I am very much younger than him.
As for Kahaani, I didn't leave it. The role came to a logical conclusion as I was told and after that I wasn't very prepared. It was also very time consuming.
Have you quit singing? When will you get back to it?
— Geetika
Dear Geetika, I haven't quit. My past record shows that I have taken at least two and half years between my albums. And now it has just been one and half year, so I still have time.
Why don't you act in a soap?
— Sahil
Dear Sahil, It is very tiring. And no one has offered me a character that I would really love to do for a long time. There are good roles, but not an interesting character that I can do for the rest of my life. It has to be challenging, as saying the same lines again and again, doing the same thing gets to you.
Would you and Varun ever do a show together?
— Rakhi
Dear Rakhi, we would love to. We did Phir Se and it got a RAPA Award. Each time we do something, we get to spend a lot of time together. But besides that, I enjoy working with him as a co-actor. I know how he thinks, we have a similar approach to work and its always good to work with good actors. Period.
What happened to your movie, The Perfect Husband?
— Jojo
Dear Jojo, I don't know about the film, but I got The Perfect Husband. On a serious note, the film is ready and was to be released, but the producer and director will best answer the question.
