Kabir stared out of the his office bay window...Madhu Di, just left discussing about his & Ananya's wedding date next month...before they get busy with the Italian project, No doubts he cud see everyone excited about it...but for some strange reason it made him quite nervous...not that he regrets his decision & gradually he is accepting Ananya's presence in his life as a partner...but somewhere deep down he has that little Fear, anxiety.
Though the engagement had happened a months before, neither had the nerve to bring up the subject of the wedding- partially out of nervousness, partially out of fear, and partially in disbelief that they are engaged & will be getting married soon...
Neither was sure how much their life would change, but one thing they knew was that Aryan will always come first...Remembering of Aryan...Kabir smiled to himself...how in these 2 years Aryan has end up being comfortable & dependent on Ananya...& even she too, be it joining Aryan in his silly games...fulfilling his any & every childish wish...Ananya always ended up being a child herself when she was with Aryan...& she had been extremely caring towards him...he cant be more thankful to her for being there around whenever it was needed...be it when Aryan got down with fever, & Kabir was out of town...& It was Ananya who rushed Aryan in middle of night & admitted him to hospital...till Kabir arrived back Ananya had spent sleepless nights taking care of him...
Be it Aryan's first walking attempt... first speaking attempt...Ananya had always been around...
Infact, it had been Aryan's surprising words that had put it him in spot...& how exactly Aryan ended up calling Ananya as "Ma-Ma"
It had been after Aryan's first bday party...which had been organized by Ananya...& Aryan had first experience of getting along with other kids of his age...though he still clinged to Kabir but Aryan also had fun...& seeing other kids calling out to their mother... Aryan surprised Kabir & Ananya when Aryan uttered "Ma-Ma" while two of them fed him cake...
It took a moment for both of them to realise what Aryan had said... Aryan was used to calling Kabir as "Pa"...but it came as a surprise to both of them...its only a moment later Aryan smashed his hand in cake again & picked up the frosting & pointed towards Ananya again tried to feed her cake again calling "Ma-Ma"
If Ananya herself hadn't confess her Love, Kabir knows he wud have continued to believe that it had been Aryan's words months back that gave Ananya idea of marrying him...

But everything said & done, somewhere failure of first relationship makes him apprehensive...& why it is?? Is something he was confused with himself"what scares him more...not getting successful in this project or once again facing a loss...or not being able to handle relationships...or Is he being plainly selfish by imposing Aryan's responsibility on Ananya...when practically Aryan is completely his responsibility...afterall its his brother's son, a responsibility which his brother handed over, along with the whole Sharma business before he & his wife passed away in accident years back...
Will gradually with time, Ananya will also feel that he burdened her with his responsibility... as Neha blamed Aryan for being a reason to drift them apart...or simply he just fears Neha's words years back when they had separated... after their business faced biggest of crisis...
"You are a failure Kabir Sharma, na apna family business sambhal paaye, na humari shadi...& then you expect me to waste my time raising someone else's child..."
For some strange reason he feared, he has failed in every relation...Be it as a son disappointing his father, who always wanted him to join the family business but Kabir chose to go with his love of teaching & his social work of educating underprivileged, something which he enjoyed...resulting souring relationship with rich business tycoon father Anirudh Sharma ...even untill he passed away...
Even in love, he had failed & got wronged big time...even regrets getting married at first place...everytime coming face to face Neha, reminds him of how wrong he had been...
Meeting Neha years back being in same college, there had been an instant attraction...She was talented, ambitious, beautiful and creative...it wasn't long before both officially started dating...
He had never been so happy!! She eagerly joined his charity programmes, even showered her with gifts, all to see her eyes light up happily...he was glad to have her around...& he was cloud 9 when she accepted his proposal, & in a whirlwind they got married...He didn't even cared if his father or family consented his choice...as his father strongly opposed Neha, as she was just a simple girl & to add on an orphan...for once even his brother & Di questioned his choice
Madhu"Are you sure Kabir, Neha is right for u??I mean you sure she loves you & not for your Sharma legacy you carry...
Kabir"Di, how can you even think, Neha knows I have nothing to do with Dad's business...& his riches...
Kabir always took pride in his ability to judge people and he trusted Neha implicitly... & he was proud of his choice...had happy dreams of future ahead only to be shattered within few days of marriage with Neha picking up constant arguments for no reason...have issues with anything & everything in their life in his small house, their lifestyle ...& with his father passing away, his brother asked to join the business, but after his accident wholly & solely business responsibility coming on his shoulders...being a novice in business few wrong decision here & there made the business suffer...with additional responsibility of Aryan...made the couple drift more apart...
Now looking back & knowing within 6months of their divorce Neha married Varun Singhania, chairman of Singhanias ...makes him wonder did Neha really loved her...all those promises during courtship days...was everything had been an act...or he himself as a person had been a failure in judging & missing things which were in front of him...

He is brought out of his thoughts when he saw steaming cup of coffee in front of him...he turned to his side surprised to see Ananya observing him curiously...thanking softly he took the coffee...
Ananya (sighed)"ab poochna padega?? Problem kya hai? (seeing Kabir just silent) for sure, Goa wale project ki tension toh ho nahi sakti, we are way ahead of deadline...as for the Italian project we already in second position leading way... & I know you, aap professionally itna stress nahi lete...until & unless you are stressing about competing with ex wife ....(Kabir gave a sharp look to her) afterall we have a tie at second position...Mr. Paul will have tough decision to make...
Kabir--& you find it amusing?? (pissed off) sab kuch tumhe asaan lagta hai...aur tumhe kya lagta us din mujhe samajh nahi aaya, why u distracted me with knots & crosses...(sighed) Ananya, its not as easy & simple to ignore Neha...tum nahi samjhogi...
Ananya (interrupted)--you are Right!! mujhe samajh mein nahi aata, Dat Neha ko itni importance kyun milti hai...woh kya kehti hai, kya karti hai why does it matter?? agar woh life mein aage badh sakti hai...why not you??
Kabir (angry)--& you think I am not trying??... humara rishte ko meri acceptance, isse bada ya is se zyada proof nahi hoga that I am trying...
Ananya--mujhe proof ki zarut nahi hai, because I know, u are trying...par us koshish mein aap ek kadam aage badhte hai...& Neha comes to u & say something aap do kadam peeche hojate hai...(Kabir stared at her) what?? I was not with you for today's conference...but I know Neha met u today & as usual kuch kaha hoga, its not difficult to guess...& problem wohi se shuru hoti hai, even if she says something...whats big deal, dat will not make her win the project...even if she wins its not...(she was interrupted when she felt the Kabir banging the coffee mug with a force breaking it into pieces)...
Kabir (angry)--She is NOT going to beat me on this!! ...like hell, she can take this contract...(Ananya was surprised to see so much anger in him... for a moment his anger scared her, as she has never seen him so desperate for any previous projects they have bid for) She not gonna beat me here...(seeing Ananya trying to interrupt) & please, mujhe philosphical lecture dene ki zarut nahi hai...
Ananya--its a part of business...we winsome-loose some.(Ananya reminded him of his lines from lecture) ....if you forgot, aap hi ne seekhaya tha, Sir,...(Paused) is baar aapko haarne ka darr kyun hai?? its not gonna be first time we will not get a project...isse pehle be we have competed, & lost few times...but it never made a difference...hum sab saath hai & we working hard for it...Di, Jiju...aap main...So,
Kabir (irritated)-Di-Jiju will understand...but shayad tumhare liye, it wont be easy to stand with a looser...aur saath chodna bahut asaan hota hai...
Ananya felt her eyes well up with tears...He looked so angry at her... She had only wanted him to stop stressing...
Ananya (teary) --So, now u are comparing!!! aapko lagta hai, ki "main" bhi aapka saath chod dungi?? ...I always knew, aap mujhse shayad pyaar nahi kar paenge?? but mujhe nahi pata tha, in do saalo mein aap itna trust bhi nahi kar paaye mujhpar... phir toh mera aapko is rishte ke liye force karne ka koi matlab nahi banta...
Kabir watched her go and feeling a stab of guilt...even before he can ask her to stop... she turned around & left the room before tears started falling.....
