Stagnation or Setting the stage?

Yesterday's episode did leave a slight bit of disappointment in me, on two fronts,,

1) No effort to find the missing chip
2) Ananya's immaturity during the meeting

From the story perspective, the missing chip was more of a disappointment. Why is that nobody except Sunny is even thinking about it, I understand for Ananya's friends, it doesn't matter much except to free Ananya of the blame, and even if they do find the chip in Malvika's cabin, there is no way she can be directly accused of stealing it, she could always claim that the people who retrieved it from her cabin are the ones who placed in the first place. But the chip has a bigger role, as an evidence for police. Why a seasoned journalist such as Kabir is not keen on finding it? And why inspector Khurana is not demanding for it? And why Ananaya is not remembering Khurana's talk with her about the chip? Probably I shouldn't expect Ananya to even think like a journalist these days, the hardcore reporter seems to have taken a backstage for the sulking girlfriend to run riot. Is it the same case for Kabir too? Is his mind so occupied with his wayward girlfriend that he can't think logically any more? I certainly expect better from Kabir.. Now the focus shifting to Kabir - Ananya relationship becoming known to her mother, and the consequences of it, seems like the chip matter will be put on the back burner. But for how long? I really relly wish the chip doesn't become a forgotten entity.

There has been enough discussion about Ananya's immaturity and story being stagnant. I did have similar feeling last night, but I have a slightly different opinion now, I think Ananya is shown to be so immature for a reason. In this relationship, so-far it has been Kabir who done all the adjustments and the grand gestures, we only seen Ananya being a demanding GF and Kabir being the accommodative BF. Even her gesture of not wanting to know Kabir's past seems more like an escape mechanism (from the troubles of future & past) in the second time she mentioned it. It has been 11 episodes since the confession, and the only time Ananya behaved somewhat subdued was with her friends, when she got the sarcastic tongue lashing from Richa. Evie that doesn't change her unrealistic expectations on Kabir.. But is the story stagnant? On the relationship front, we haven't seen them discussing anything important.. But the progress is that the relationship is now known to Ananya's friends and almost everyone in office have a clue of it. Ananya is not shown to be influenced by friends's negative opinion. And Kabir is time and again proving that he is willing to let go off his inhibitions and even his professional aloofness for Ananya, not to mention risking his life. Aren't these gestures by Kabir having any impact on Ananya? I think they are, though we don't see any change in Ananya's demands or her behaviour, there must be a inward change, she is milking his attention by throwing tantrums because she is gaining in confidence, the confidence of being loved by this man. And these changes will come to the forefront in Kabir's time of need. Their roles will be reversed very soon, not that Kabir will become childish and start throwing tantrums, but he will become the vulnerable one who is need of constant attention and support, and Anaya will go sober to be there for him as the silent support system. Probably the makers are showing this immature side of Ananaya to make us realise how love (giving and receiving) can take a person to extreme ends, when she is receiving the love, she is the child who relishes all the perks that comes up with it, and when she gives it, she just showers it on the man who earned it, the way he needs and deserves it.

But does this thoughtprocess justify Ananya's behaviour during the meeting? I think the makers went overboard with this scene.. Ananya's illogical talks & childish tantrum during the car scene in Friday was cute because it was done in private, but she creating a scene at the meeting room was just plain annoying. She failed in two accounts there, one as a professional by not respecting the meeting etiquettes ( by talking about a false lead) and also as a girlfriend who very badly put her boyfriend down infront of his subordinates and detractors. What did Kabir ever do to deserve this humiliation, that too from the woman for whom he is ready to risk anything. Felt very very bad for Kabir in this scene. Ananya seems to have lost her marbles in that scene. Kabir did handle the situation with atmost professionalism, but he didn't fool anybody there. He deserve a big round of applause for the cool way he dished out sarcasm at Malvika and then the no nonsense stare at the end.

Ananya's scene with Manav was a saving grace.. I want to say 'Girl, just listen to your own talk, you would know Kabir is not wrong in reprimanding you!!. Yes, loved Ananya's attitude in that scene.

I am trying very hard to work my head around Ananya's logic of expecting apology from Kabir (that too in public), but even her best friend Ronnie is not able to understand or support her, then how can I be? Ok, Ananya, the GF is hurt, and expecting an apology from her boyfriend. Let's leave it at that.. But what is the repeated talk about 'insult'? In my limited knowledge of English, insult is something one does to degrade or put down the other person, reprimanding for a mistake done is not an insult, actually Ananya's humiliation of Kabir in the meeting room was an insult, not his scolding. As I had been telling from last week, I don't mind Kabir apologising, but I don't think it is required, I would like it better if he gives a word of appreciation for her quick thinking in getting Khurana on air, that too in their editorial meeting.

Ronnie was having a field day, enjoying his 'luck' in not being landed with a demanding GF ;). I did feel irritated with him for not making her see the logic in Kabir's POV, but I guess Ananya was in no mood listen to him. And I felt bad for him too, in a way, both Richa and Ananya keep reminding of his feeling for Ananya, why do they they do it, why can't they just leave out his feelings?

Richa... Ufff. This girl, I know she can't have a change of heart overnight, and start supporting Ananya's relationship with Kabir, but I hoped she would atleast respect the professional side of Kabir and understand why he did what he did. But, no, she calls his act as selfish and kind of hints that he won't think twice before sacrificing Ananya for his career, what to call this woman, she is letting her prejudice blind what is so obvious.

Manav made perfect sense with Malvika, yes, Ananya can't be thrown out of Kabir's life, and it is better to throw both out of KKN ;). Malvika is no more averse to that idea, though she did make the necessary noise about why she would want Kabir out if KKN, but she is coming around to his line of thinking.

Kabir is slowly learning Ananya's ways, he no more gets surprised of anything she throws at him, including the stick it 'SADU' ;). Poor guy, he is worried about anyone seeing it though ;), the text exchange was cute,

It was kind of sad to see him looking for her in the last scene, his heart was in his eyes again. Lovely to see Tarini & Anurag, for the very first time heard Anurag address Tarini as didi as Kabir as bhaiyya. As always nice bonding between them. Tarini's sharp eyes don't miss anything, neither Kabir looking for Ananya nor his dilemma in calling her.

Khalid indicated the arrival of the representative of the new company. Representative doesn't necessarily be a owner or partner, I would like it if Shreya is a high profile executive and not a partner, because if she is a part owner, and Kabir not knowing this basic info, would look very odd. Also, if she is not partner, it will be easy to send her off from KKN ;).

Am I looking for Shreya's entry? No I am not... I am already disappointed with the way Malvika's character has been changed just to suit the vamp needs of the show, I fear may be Shreya too would fit the same mould. And I don't like the actress much too. But waiting for the professional troubles Shreya creates for Kabir, and how he handles it..

p.s : I had always been of the opinion that there is more to Baby than what meets the eye. I personally find her brand of comedy very annoying. Yes, she is here with a motive, but who sent here, we will know soon I guess. And did she purposely distract Subny from finding the chip in Malvika's cabin? I think Sunny's action would have caused more damage than be of any real use, and if he does find the chip in Malvika's cabin, Malvika would turn the tables and put the blame on him...

Good Post...
Would like to add to some thoughts you have put across...
the story is definitely not stagnated - I feel that Kaya are getiing to know each other...they are realising or even trying to understand what each other feels or wants...so the relationship is progressing...whether the acts are justified are not is a matter of debate, but definitely these will create a base for the relationship to grow..
Regarding the chip - u are very correct..I have a fear too that the chip is going to be forgotten...In fact Ananya finally said that she does not bother about the chip anymore...I really wanted this deciet of Malavika to be exposed..but as of now did not get a feeling that the CVs are going to take this forward...hopes are still on Sunny though 😆
Ananya is not insisting on a public apology..she is happy if Kabir just tells the word to her in private...her only grudge is that Kabir is who is holding her entirely responsible for the incident and not willing to accept that indeed Malavika had a hand in this...she wants an apology for that only...
Richa's prejudice is indeed getting off limits of our patience now...she has been lecturing on professionalism at work and then she only terms Kabir's behaviour as "selfish"...total conflict of thoughts...and one incident and she is sure that Kabir will not be there for Ananya in case of any adverse situation due to merger...
One more thing - what is your take on Baby - you have not commented on the Baby - Sunny scene...

I think this is where she is wrong, he is not holding her completely responsible for the mishap, his scolding was for her irresponsibility. Whether she likes it or not, Malvika could steal the chip only because Ananya was careless with it. I found it funny when she said that some people need proof to trust me, while Kabir actually didn't reject the idea of Malvika stealing the chip, but the fact is until he has a proof, he can't really do anything about it.

Oops. Sorry, yes, I missed writing about it.. Will add now..

Great analysis Geetha - I too was a bit disappointed at the turn of events. Ananya sticking the paper and kicking the door - could not fathom her antics. He is the EIC dear girl and Kabir immediately removing it lest anyone notices - her behaviour was absolutely ridiculous. And she let him down very badly in the editorial meeting. This was taking it too far and I felt extremely bad for him. She is making their relationship a joke and giving Malvika, Manav and Richa too enough fodder for dirty talk. But inspite of all this Kabir handled the meeting so well, heard everyone through and answered Malvika superbly. I so wished Ronnie will drum some sense into Ananya's head but I doubt if she is willing to listen to anyone at this stage. She is hurt and thinks Kabir's firing is an insult and is just hell bent on his apology. She appeared sane when she was talking to Manav and immediately took Kabir's side.

She can rant and fight with him in private but in public Ananya has to learn to behave. Office decorum has to be maintained and bringing up their tiffs when a serious meeting was underway was very immature. Richa's comment on Kabir was in very bad taste - hey girl he was the one who stood by your side when you landed yourself in that controversy and once again she was harping on Kaya relationship.

Baby is too loud mouthed and there is something sneaky about her. Yes except Sunny nobody was bothered about the all important chip. I dont want Malvika to get away so easily from this horrendous act just to settle her personal scores. Her cheap act should be unearthed come what may and on this I am with Ananya all the way. Hope the CVs do not proceed with this chip story in cold storage.

Manav and Malvika - oh what an incredible pair ! Their very survival is plotting others' downfall and deriving sadistic pleasure and in a way they are needed for each other to show the mirror.

Tarini and Anurag's presence was very welcome. Nothing escapes Tarini's astute eyes and she immediately sensed Kabir's restlessness. It was very surprising to see them at KKN and wonder what Richa's comment will be now.

Hey..I am caught up with work but could not hold myself from replying after reading that you are disappointed due to Ananya's illogical behavior. I know she is behaving in an immature manner but I am not disappointed because she is being herself. Ananys is a person who always follows her heart and heart knows no logic. I love the way writers are dealing with human emotions - its complexities and its randomness. Our emotions are not planned but are unpredictable in nature depending on the situation and that is what is shown here. Ananya behaves in the same manner - her actions are random and are governed by what her heart feels rather than practical.
If I think ideally yes she is being irrational but if I think it as a flawed human I love her irrespective of her short comings. We all tend to give perfect advice but we we are caught in a similar situation we act irrationally as well and thus I can not say that she is wrong. She is just being herself and I have accepted her the way she is and thus no disappointment.

Loved your analysis! The stage is being set for them to face the coming storm and all the incidences are interlinked to one another paving way for a mature Ananya who feels secured in their relationship.

Missing your detailed reply :(. But thank you very much for taking time out of your work to reply..

I enjoyed Ananya's tantrum and cuteness in the last 2 weeks except in 2 instances, once in the PCR ILU scene and second in the meeting room scene of yesterday. I agree that she follows her heart, that's what made me look past the 'SADU' and kicking of the glass door, but she is also a proffesional and someone who claims to be in love with this man. Nothing justifies me her behaviour in the meeting room, because she failed in both counts there. Am I expecting perfection from her? I hope not. I like her as she is, and I don't want her ever to loose the sunshine personality she has, but I am totally not able to relate to her behaviour in the meeting room, there was abosultely no trigger there to make her behave so.

Yes, all these incidences are shown to pave way for the strengthening of Ananya's love for Kabir and how that love works as a shield to protect him.
