PART 23:

But wanting to keep an eye on them she asks them to walk ahead of her. On their way a child starts crying, getting emotional the at last they'll get out of here. Ananya takes her to a corner, which is actually kind of a passageway but covered with bricks by all three sides. Sitting down on her knees, she rubs the girl's tears and explains her "Dekho beta aap itne dino se yahan ho aur aapne itne strongly behave kia hai, to ab aap kyu ro rahe ho? Aap to big girl ho na! Aur ab to hum apke saath hain, I promise you ki hum aap subko yahan se sahi salamat le jayenge. Aap firse apne mummy-papa se mil paoge. Fir unke saath na kahin ghumne jana. Apne papa se zid karna ki wo apko, apki manpasand har cheez dilayein". As Ananya explains it to the girl and tries to comfort her, her own eyes sparkle with happiness, anticipating how the girl will feel after meeting her father. But soon her throat gets choked, her eyes well up. But remembering that this is not a time to break down but to be bold enough to face any circumstances, she controls herself. Then she remembers that she is with Kabeer! 'No I won't let him know, how miserable I am!' But the one she is thinking about is 'Kabeer Sharma'. He never misses any strange thing.

Knowing it too well that if she continues talking to the girl, she'll break down in front of him, and also knowing that she won't like as for now, breaking down in front of him, Kabeer decides to take her out of her misery. "Miss Kashyap agar apki baatein ho gayi hon to hum bahar jaane ke bare mein soche? Ya apka yahin rehne ka irada hai?", he says a bit strictly, although he didn't want to be strict on her, given the scenario but he knew it's the best for her or else she might break down. Although he won't mind comforting her but she might not like it. "Yes Sir", controlling her emotions, she gets up.

Without making any noise, they pass through the passageway. As they were about to move forth, they hear the footsteps of one of the men of Mohan Brijesh. The sound of the footsteps clears with each step he takes, indicating he is coming closer to them. Turning back Kabeer locks the children up into a room which is just adjacent to them, alerting them not to make noise and assuring them that they'll return to take them soon. The scared children obey him and stay quietly. Locking them there safely, Kabeer and Ananya move forth but the returning of the man alerts them, resulting in Ananya's standing by the wall and Kabeer hovering her, resting his both hands on either sides of the wall, so that they are face to face. They stare intently into each other's eyes.

Feeling utterly shy, Ananya looks down. "Ye kya bachpana tha?" he whispers to her, slowly, not rushing his words.

ananya got emotional talking about girl's father. 😭 kabir and ananya's bond is really strong. he understands her very well. beautiful description. but the ending part... kabir and ananya this much close and face to face. amazing. waiting for next part. superb. update soon. thnk u so much for pm.
