KL: Who did I hire as the Editor-in-Chief of KKN?
Kabir: What do you mean?
KL: Did I hire the in-control, ruthless, target oriented Kabir Sharma? Or the looser Kabir Sharma who had an affair with his intern, whose wife dumped him, who struggled with alcoholism and anger issues.
Kabir: Enough KL. I messed up. But I have already done enough for this channel to not deserve such a dressing down.
KL: Fine let's not talk about work. Let's talk about the women in your life then. Tarini Pal? How is she? Single mother to a handicapped son right? I know you didn;t have an affair with her. But media thought you did and you of all people should know the power of the media. Her fiance Aditya Singhania dumped her right? Side effects of being close to you.
Kabir: Not a word more KL. I'll send in my resgnation in an hour.
KL laughed.
KL: Not so soon Mr Sharma. Your contract makes it impossible for you to resign without being ruined. You will continue to bring numbers for KKN for as long as we want. And that means no distractions. In other words,no Ananya Kashyap.
Kabir's face turned pale.
KL: You don't want her to turn into another Tarini do you? In fact you didn't even love Tarini? Imagine what'll happen to the woman you actually love.
Kabir knew he was cornered for once. He knew he had to keep Ananya out of this mess.
He returned to KKN and became ruthless and harsh towards Ananya. He could see her soul getting crushed each time he was rude with her. But he had no other alternate. Not till he figured out a way of outwitting KL at his own game.
Three months later. Ananya entered his office. She looked pale and her eyes were dull. Kabir's heart broke into a million pieces.
Kabir: What do you want?
Ananya: Sir, I need you to approve this.
Kabir: You don;t need to come to me for any approvals.
Ananya: Actualy I do. This is my resignation letter.
KABIR was stumped. For some reason, he had never expected her to resign. He quickly composed himself.
Kabir: Fine. But you'll need to serve out the notice period of 1 month.
Ananya: Sir is that really necessary?!
Kabir: And why should I make an exception for you?
Kabir needed this one month to sort everything out.
At the restaurant
Kabir: Tarini, I have to stop her. I can't let her destroy her career.
Tarini: Maybe it's better for her. Being away from you. Being around you is killing her.
Kabir: I am doing this for her own good.
Tarini: Stop making decisions for other people.. You know..
Tarini suddenly stopped and her face turned white.
Kabir: What happened?
Tarini: Aditya!
Kabir looked in the direction in which Tarini was pointing. Aditya Singhania was having a meeting in the same restaurant. His meeting finished and he turned and immediately spotted Tarini and KABIR.
He walked up to them.
Aditya: We meet again Kabir! And TARINI! So good to see you. I took over the reigns of BTM Channel last week, Watch out for your top spot.
Kabir: LET'S go Tarini.
Aditya: What's the hurry? Something's don't change do they. Kabir Sharma always needs two women in his life. First it was Shreya and Tarini. Now it is Tarini and that junior reporter right?
