After some heavy duty episodes, we got a light-hearted breather episode. But what impressed me the most was how well the this lighthearted episode brought out some much needed insight into the characters. Hats off the the makers..
The accident is a blessing in disguise for Kabir, he got his much needed time to recollect himself and raise his defences up. He needs it before coming under the scrutiny of KKN gang, especially Malavika and Manav.
Khalid is undoubtedly the most entertaining and insightful character in the show, and he shares a great chemistry with Kabir. The scene between them wasn't just entertaining, but thought provoking too. Kabir was not usual smirky self, but his silence was as usual golden, he didn't have his usual Mr. Kabir 'Confident' Sharma look, but nevertheless he was composed, if there was a twinge of vulnerability in his eyes, it was well masked at most times. And he is a master in feigning ignorance when it suits him ;). I just love his poker face ;). And Khalid, as always the channel comes first in his priorities, but he genuinely wants Kabir's welfare too. The slight nod of exasperation from Kabir when Khalid demands him to present the 9:00 clock news even if it is from hospital bed, lovely,. And then another nod of resigned acceptance :).
The 'purani' Kabir, interesting insight to his past, he had anger management and drinking issues, and he somehow overcame them and learn to ruthlessly control his emotions and this complete control over himself gives immense advantage over others. An in-control Kabir Sharma is doubly dangerous than a volatile one, and he is now building back his control again, Beware Manav & Malvika ;). Coming back to purani Kabir, I think his drinking habit was an excuse for him to lose his control, Probably he was going in a downward spiral after his divorce and his behaviour of drinks and uncontrolled anger were an indication to that. He somehow took hold of his life again, ditched his habits and became the suave, ruthless in-control Kabir. But by doing it he left his ability to feel in a cold storage. I will come back to this theory when we discuss Tarini's confrontation. But I strongly feel his drinking never resulted in physical harm to anybody (except those occasional slaps to his editors ;)). Probably thats why this accident will act as a reality check for him. He has time in abundance at the hospital to contemplate what if he harmed anther person due to his drunken drive.. Hope he would realise his folly and wouldn't repeat it again.
It was endearing to see a flustered Ananya when she comes to know about Kabir's accident and the confused look when Trisha updated her his uncharacteristic behaviour at the office. And her murmuring about Malvika when the latter sabotaged her plan to visit hospital, very cute..
We have seen 2 set of friends Yesterday, while Tarini encouraged Kabir to open up his heart for the second chance, Richa discouraged Ananya to even think of Kabir in a romantic way.. They both had their friends' welfare at their heart, but the approach?

Interestingly Tarini didn't seem to bother about the feelings of the 'girl' in question. And she didn't try to provoke Kabir to confess and take forward the relationship, she only asked him to accept his feelings and open himself for a second chance. It made me think what she means by this.. As I mentioned, sometime after his divorce, Kabir ruthlessly took charge of his out of control life and put a tight lid on his emotions. He achieved it by denying himself the luxury of the ability to feel, for how many ever years, he kept his feelings in cold storage, but with Ananya's entry, his feelings are thawing, he is starting to feel again, probably it has not happened overnight, his suppressed emotions are coming back for a while, the first indication was his anger when she went against him in Mahi's case, he wasn't behaving like a in-control Editor-in-chief, but a man with feelings. And Tarini want to see that hot blooded man, not this cold blooded editor-in-chief. She is asking him accept his ability to feel and open himself to a second chance to live like a normal man. Ananya may or maynot reciprocate his feelings, and even if she does, there could be hundred other hurdles. Kabir atleast know that Ananya is not immune to him, from her looks and blushes, There is no way for Tarini to know about Ananya's feelings, that makes me think what Tarini suggested is not to pursue Ananya, but to be open to his feelings. And she is such a great friend for being so concerned for the emotional welfare of Kabir.
Kabir's reaction to Tarini's blackmail of going far from him.. these two share such a wonderful friendship, Tarini & Anurag are so precious to him, and she knows it enough to blackmail him. Very interesting and mature friendship, there is no insecurity or doubt between them, Kabir needs someone like Tarini forever, even if he does end up with Ananya.
It was heartwrenching to see the naked longing in Kabir's face when Tarini was taking about his feelings and second chances. He still maintained his golden silence, but the eyes spoke volumes of what his heart desires. If there is one person who deserves second chance, that's our Kabir Sharma.
Coming to Richa - Ananya.. Ananya is naive, innocent and impressionable, it never came out as strongly as yesterday, Richa seems to possess a wise head over her shoulder, whatever she told about the other side of Kabir sir, all are true and it is the responsibility of a true friend to nail the facts as they see.. But, her desperation in wanting to make Ananya give up on Kabir, that somehow didn't matchup with the feelings of just a friend. The manner in which she confronted Ronnie about what he said to Ananya, and then coming back to drill her opinion onto Ananya's head, it gave me a feeling that she was trying to brainwash Ananya, not just advice, and for a moment I felt her first concern is for Ronnie and not Ananya. Friends are there to give good advice, not to insist to follow only their advise. For all her innocence Ananya is an adult, she has right to make her own mistakes. And it is always better to try and fail than not trying at all. Let's say, Ananya heeds Richa's advice, gives up on Kabir and later probably accepts Ronnie's proposal. She might even have a good marriage with Ronnie, but there will always be a question at the back of her mind, the 'What if' question, what if I pursued Kabir sir, what if he felt the same for me, so many such what ifs, and Ronnie will always be second best in her life.. Is it fair to either of them?
Coming to Richa's opinion on Kabir Sir's other side, if there is someone among the KKN employees, who had seen the human side of Kabir, that is Ananya. And inspite of their 3 day hostage, Kabir is not the sort of a person who opens up his heart when they were nothing but colleagues. It is unfair to expect him to do that. And after they made that friendship pact, he did tell her to go ahed and ask what she wants to know during the chat. Hope Ananya realises it sometime.
Ananya is adamant about visiting Kabir, and the plan of Sunny looked so juvenile to me, but whats the big deal if it works...
The injection scene, very cute and very much needed to give us some much needed laugh. But this is the third time I know of where a macho serial hero has injection phobia ;), but I am not complaining,Kabir was indeed cute as Tarini said, and the open laughter between them was so so nice.
Ananya is behaving true to her nature so-far, she does need time to process her feelings and grow up a bit before totally fall in love in the real Kabir.
Precap was entertaining. I am going to enjoy this cute fight ;). Kabir is angry because he thinks Ananya doesn't care for him enough to visit him at hospital, he might even doubt the sincerity of her offer of friendship, he might think she extended the friendship hand only because she wanted his help in her father's case, that kind of thinking can be fatal for a complicated man like him. The precap makes me strongly feel that his travel to Singapore (or wherever it is) is for investigating Sudhir Kashyap case, he must be desperate to prove a point to his Ms. Kashyap ;).
